Day 4 of 5: Mackenzie had a much needed 3 day rest from treatments. Her nausea has been a bit better. She will continue taking the steroids for a week or two after radiation.

FYI, Mackenzie appreciates all the love, support, gifts and prayers. She is not personally responding due to nausea. She is struggling with drinking water and tea today.

Day 3: Each treatment including driving back and forth to Hamilton, takes up to 5 hrs. Mackenzie is still suffering from nausea, which she now has a prescription for. We have our fingers crossed this will give her some relief. She is also suffering from migraines. Happy New Year from Mackenzie and her family. They all appreciate the messages, support and gifts.

Day 2: The mask was was tightened today causing Mackenzie some discomfort. Mackenzie's main side effect at this time is nausea from the steroids. She is using some of these well known products to try to help settle it. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to comment on the posts and reach out to Mackenzie. She appreciates all the love and support. ❤❤❤

Update: Mackenzie has been resting, she is feeling very nauseated from the steroids. PM to Mackenzie are welcome as well...

Mackenzie was diagnosed over 3 years ago with having an arteriovenous malformation, an AVM on her brain . Since that time doctors have closely monitored it's growth, deciding it's time to take action to shrink the AVM with radiation treatments, followed by surgery to remove it.
I've created this page so we can follow Mackenzie's journey and support her though this difficult time.
