Habit Stacking
Habit stacking is one way to keep building on your food and fitness journey. It’s a technique that involves attaching a new habit to an existing habit, like HIIT on Monday! If you want to add a new behavior, like 15 minutes of stretching every day, you can attach your stretching goal to your Monday HIIT habit. Habit stacking capitalizes on the fact you are already consistent in one area, and lets you establish a new one.
Maybe you find yourself indulging in a few extra carbs on low-carb day and you want to make it a habit to stick with the plan! Consider today DAY ONE. Once you create a habit, it becomes easier to maintain. Most importantly, give yourself grace. The key is progress over perfection (which is actually a habit!), and each day presents a fresh start, giving you the power to make positive adjustments as you move forward.
