Shopping Days 4U Active Birth Workshop provider Learn about how labour can unfold and the choices you may face. Ways you can work with your body as you birth your baby.

Techniques to aid releasing muscle tension and the importance of breathing and keeping fed and watered throughout. Find out why being upright and active helps labour and how various movements and techniques can sometimes help get babies better positioned for birth. Training up your birth partner in these techniques is good for both of you. It can be tricky being with someone in labour when you don't know how to help. This workshop will give plenty of ideas and increase birth-partner confidence and competence in the birth room. Whilst being designed for those aiming to avoid using epidurals and op**te analgesia to help manage pain, the workshop is also of use to those who plan to use those options. This is because, in most cases epidurals and op**tes will not be offered until labour is well established, and from the start of sensations, to when it is deemed to be 'established' can for some take several hours, or in some cases a few days, therefore the content can still be really useful. Techniques collected from many years of midwife experience, with midwifery and doula training from experts around the world put together in a 2.5 hour workshop. This has been successfully running in London for several years and is always well received. Now available in Crewe!
