This month, we unite to raise awareness, support those impacted, and take action for a future without ovarian cancer. đź’š

Every voice, every step, and every donation helps bring us closer to better research, stronger support systems, and life-saving breakthroughs.

One way you can help is by joining the Canada Walk of Hope — a fundraising event dedicated to breaking barriers in ovarian cancer research and care.

Together, we raise funds that fuel innovation, provide crucial resources, and create lasting change for those living with and beyond ovarian cancer.

Hope doesn’t wait—it grows stronger when we act.

No, taking a break doesn’t make you weak. Setting boundaries isn’t selfish. Crying after a session doesn’t mean you’re unprofessional.
Let’s stop confusing martyrdom with mastery. The best leaders, therapists, and clinicians aren’t the ones who go the longest without sleep—they’re the ones who know how to protect their peace.

Self-neglect isn’t a personality trait. It’s a red flag. The real flex? Doing the inner work, admitting when you're not okay, and modeling wellness in real time—not just on Instagram.

We entered medicine with a fire in our hearts. A dream. A purpose. A why. Yet, as women physicians, that why often gets buried beneath the endless patient charts, sleepless nights, systemic pressures, and the weight of everyone else’s expectations.

I’ve seen it firsthand: women physicians showing up every day for their patients and families, while quietly losing touch with their own inner compass. That’s why this keynote means so much to me. Reconnecting with our why isn’t optional—it’s survival. It’s the difference between running on empty and living with purpose.

When we take the time to pause and realign, we not only reclaim our joy, but we also lead better, heal better, and live better. This talk is my call to women in medicine to remember who they are, and to build lives that honor their humanity, not just their role as caregivers.

👉 To my fellow women physicians: When was the last time you asked yourself why you started this journey? And more importantly—does your life still reflect that answer?

📚 Leadership isn’t optional—and neither is growth.

We’re living in 2025, not 1925. Yet too many leaders are stuck in old ways, afraid to ask questions, terrified of learning, and convinced past success makes them untouchable.

If you’ve stopped learning, you’re not leading. You’re just… in the way.

In this article, I dive into why education isn’t a luxury—it’s the backbone of great leadership, and what happens when leaders stop evolving:

👉 Why curiosity beats complacency
👉 How stagnation harms morale, innovation, and even your health
👉 Steps to stay sharp, relevant, and truly influential

Leaders: it’s time to stop acting like dinosaurs. Evolve. Learn. Grow.

Sometimes, what seems like the most painful day of your life turns out to be the most joy-filled. That paradox has shaped my story and it’s one of the central themes of my upcoming keynote, “Reconnecting with Your Why: How Healing Relationships, Starting With Ourselves, Restores Joy, Purpose, and Community in Medicine”.

I’ve lived days I thought would break me—days that tested my body, my faith, and my spirit. Yet those very days gave me clarity I never imagined possible. Pain has a way of stripping away the noise until only the truth remains. In those moments, we reconnect with what actually matters.

This talk is not about abstract theory or dry research. It’s about the messy, real-life truth that clarity often comes wrapped in difficulty. It’s about the courage to sit with the discomfort, ask yourself the hard questions, and come out the other side with a vision renewed.

👉 I want to ask you this: Have you ever experienced a day that felt unbearable, but later became one of your clearest moments of growth?

I’m honored to be one of the keynote speakers at the AHN Women Physician's Wellness Conference.

My talk, “Reconnecting with Your Why: How Healing Relationships, Starting With Ourselves, Restores Joy, Purpose, and Community in Medicine,” is a deeply personal one.

Medicine has given me moments of both incredible challenge and profound joy. Through it all, I’ve learned that healing doesn’t begin in the exam room—it begins with the relationship we have with ourselves. When we nurture that connection, we not only restore our own purpose, but also strengthen the communities we serve.

This keynote isn’t about abstract ideas—it’s about real stories, lived experiences, and the clarity that comes when we dare to pause and ask, "What truly matters?".

Join the AHN Women Physician's Wellness Conference on September 26.

I can’t wait to share this message and connect with so many inspiring colleagues.

If your team is afraid to speak up, you're not leading a culture. You're managing a silent retreat.

Most organizations claim to be collaborative, transparent, and innovative. But here's the truth: your culture is not defined by your policies or posters. It’s defined by what your people whisper in the hallways. It’s defined by who gets promoted—and who gets pushed out.

✨ Holistic Wellness Strategy:
Psychological safety isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s a performance multiplier. Are your people emotionally safe enough to tell the truth? If not, start with anonymous pulse checks and invest in honest leadership coaching.

âś… What You Can Do Today:

Ask your team one brave question: “What’s one thing we don’t talk about that we should?”

Schedule regular check-ins that are about connection, not just output.

Bring in an external facilitator to assess culture health—because your team may not tell you the truth.

➡️ If you’re brave enough to ask the hard questions, you might finally get the answers your business needs.

This past weekend, Spotify finally got me. 🎶

For over 3 years, I proudly wore my freemium badge like a crown. Every holiday, Spotify slid into my inbox with a gentle reminder: “You could pay us…” And every holiday, I ignored them. We had an understanding.

But then came this weekend’s event—I needed reliable music. And honestly, I was tired of the repeat strings of commercials (though, I’ll admit, a few weren’t bad). The real pain? Hitting my daily skip limit and having to wait until tomorrow just to escape that one song I’d heard way too many times.

So, I caved. I went Premium. And suddenly, no more interruptions, no more skip anxiety, just pure playlists.

The takeaway? Business is all about relationships. Spotify showed up consistently for over 3 years—soundtracking road trips, work sessions, and life itself. And finally, I said yes.

Cheers to Spotify for fueling my life’s soundtrack—and proving that patience (and persistence) pays off.

👉 Now I’m curious: what was the last product or service you resisted for years… and finally gave in to?

We tell patients to prioritize their health. Get sleep. Eat well. Manage stress. But what happens when the healer is hurting?

Women physicians are burning out at higher rates than men. Over 57% of female doctors report signs of burnout—far more than their male peers. And it’s not just fatigue—it’s affecting life expectancy. The very people trained to prolong lives are losing years of their own.

From gender pay gaps and workplace harassment to unequal domestic labor at home, women doctors are caught in a triple shift. Medicine isn’t just hard—it’s inhospitable.

If we want to fix health care, we need to start with those delivering it.

🌙 As the day winds down, check in with yourself:
Did you protect your boundaries today?
Did you give your energy to the right people and tasks?
Did you rest your body and mind?

End the day with gratitude, even for the small wins. Tomorrow is a fresh start.

Thrilled to share that I’ll be participating in the Canadian Conference on Physician Health (CCPH) this October in Vancouver — a gathering dedicated to improving physician wellness and patient care.

I’ll be presenting my poster Beyond Work: Reimagining Burnout as a Relationship Crisis .

It’s an honor to join physicians, educators, and health leaders in important conversations about trust, connection, and the future of care.
