Having shared custody is not "a break".⁣

Not having your child for all holidays or birthdays or all days is weird. The first year I didn't see my daughter for any of Christmas was HARD AF! It didn't feel like Christmas at all. ⁣

A friend asked me if celebrating the sentiment on another day would make it less worthy. After sulking for a minute, I realized, it does not. So while we didn't exactly celebrate Holi last weekend, we get a chance to celebrate it this weekend with a double holiday: Holi and Easter!⁣

I’ve always loved spring! I’m not sure why but my attitude changes along with the weather. Something inside me aligns and I snap out of my winter funk.

Did you know using lighter weights or dropping them is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 a sign of failure?⁣

I recently started to lower my weights because my form was off, I started stumbling during workouts, I was mentally as well as physically exhausted, and I started to get more injuries. All signs that I was lifting too heavy. ⁣

Folks, this is not a sign that you are failing but that you are modifying for your body. ⁣

Now, there is a difference between staying in a comfort zone vs overtraining and it’s important to understand the difference to avoid injury. ⁣

So next time you’re in this position, don’t be afraid to try different weights and see how you truly feel (but like realllllllllly, don’t fake it because then you’re just lying to yourself...and I’d you’re doing at home workouts, there’s no one to tell you differently). ⁣

If you can feel the muscle work and feel like you’re getting a workout in and it feel good after you’re done (not mentally exhausted, don’t want to sleep all day, etc), then you’re good! If not, make an adjustment and see!

𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓! 🥘🌮🍛🍝⁣

What a creative, easy, and festive way to do a possibly dreaded chore “Meal Plan”.⁣
You may love it or hate it, but I have found it to be a HUGE factor to weekly success. ⁣

Not only does it help me with my , but it also helps me save $$$ by not Door Dashing (I assume we have now make that a verb). AND…it makes thinking of ideas or searching recipes on Pinterest EASY AF because that can be overwhelming itself!⁣

Here are some ideas for Theme Nights! Help us out and add some more below!!!!⁣

By CUSINE: Mexican Night, Italian Night, Indian Night, Mediterranean Night, Asian Night, Breakfast for Dinner, Soup & Salad⁣

By COOKING METHOD: Crockpot Night, InstantPot Night, One Pan Meal, Sheet Pan Meal, Grill, Leftovers⁣

By INGREDIENT: Chicken Night, Seafood Night, Meatless Night, Ground Turkey, Burger Night, Pizza Night (yes, pizza is an ingredient LOL)⁣

2️⃣ ingredient snack using one of my favorite finds! ⁣

Hard boiled eggs and Chili Onion Crunch on top. That’s it. ⁣

The Chili Onion Crunch gives those 🥚 a slight chili flavor (it’s not spicy IMO), but that onion gives it a crunchy texture that makes eating hard boiled eggs enjoyable! ⁣

I’ve also used them to make deviled eggs and they are soooo good! This is my lazy way on weekdays when I need a healthy snack in a jiffy! ⁣

If it doesn’t CHALLENGE you, it doesn’t CHANGE you. ⁣

This is true for any goal you may have! Here are 3 simple tips to having that hustle mindset:⁣

1) Just start. Regardless if the goal, you have to take action on it. Ask yourself, what’s the ONE thing I can do to move in the right direction? ⁣

2) Get comfortable with the uncomfortable! You learn so much being uncomfortable. So many life skills and solutions! ⁣

3) Surround yourself with like minded people. People who have similar goals or mindset are the KEY to getting you out of a slump, holding you accountable, and encouraging you. Don’t let anyone hold you back. Not even YOURSELF! ⁣

What I wanted to say was “Today’s workout sucked.” But my at home trainer reminded us of word choice. So, let me try that again.
Today’s workout was 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆. ⁣

You learn MORE when things challenge you rather than taking the easy/comfortable way. ⁣

Today, I learned that I can’t workout in “starved state” and do my best. So, I should have taken the extra time to have my preworkout meal. I won’t make that mistake again. ⁣

Now, off to analyze some reporting at work. I guess I can take my fitness lessons to my work life also.

It may seem a little cliché to start a new fitness program the first week of the new year but I am BEYOND excited to do this 💪🏽❤️⁣

I enjoyed my holidays (or holimonths 😬) with my hubby and daughter 🥰 and am now ready to ROCK 2021 and lose the 16lbs I gained in 2020. ⁣

I have some BIG goals 🤩 this year and getting my fit on by the time I’m 40 is one of them! Now, I do have until December but remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is one’s body! It’s consistency with nutrition and fitness that will get you there 🏋🏽‍♀️🥗⁣

This is 39. ⁣

It may be a coincidence that today’s workout is called “Strength & Power” because that I what I wish for on my 39th birthday. ⁣

The strength to push past my own demons and my own excuses and power to take charge and control and achieve all the things I want! ⁣

As I turn another year older, I feel young AF! I feel younger, stronger and more active and vibrant than I did 10 years ago! ⁣

Today, I am thankful for the food we have in our home. Lately, I have been more mindful about eating what we have and trying not to waste food. If I make too much, it gets eaten for lunch or dinner then next day.⁣

If you know me well, you know I am NOT a fan of leftovers. But I AM a fan of repurposing leftovers to make a new meal. A Leftover Makeover if you will! ⁣

Last night I made “dirty rice” with leftover white rice and threw some shrimp on top of it. Today, I took the leftover shrimp and put it on top of a quick veggie stir fry using the Healthy 8 Veggie bowl from . ⁣

This way, I’m not technically eating the same thing but my leftovers get used up and I’m not wasting food!
