Meet Bethany Mannion, LCMHC 👋

She gets it—being a teen (or raising one) can feel like a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. Between anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, and the constant pressure of “having it all together,” it’s a lot.

Bethany specializes in walking with teens & families through the messiest moments. She cuts through the noise with honesty, evidence based tools (CBT + DBT), faith integration (always at your request), and practical skills that actually help. No judgment. No sugar-coating. Just real support + real hope. 💛

Because your teen doesn’t need perfect—they need a space to feel seen, safe, and ready to grow. 💥

Parenting is holy work—and it’s also exhausting.

And sometimes, the most loving thing you can do for your kids is to step away for a moment. So that you can come back reset and ready to show up for them as the parent you want to be.

Choosing rest isn’t weakness. It’s wisdom in action.

It shows your children what healthy boundaries, emotional maturity, and Christlike love look like in real life—real, messy, exhausting life.

Let’s stop glorifying burnout and giving ourselves badges for silly things like “never taking a break” and “pushing through when you want to scream” and start honoring both our own limitations and the beauty of partnership in parenting. 💛

So you got married and thought it’d feel like the dream…

And now you’re rethinking that ‘unequally yoked’ thing—but about thermostat settings.

Welcome to real life—and real love.
⠀
Marriage isn’t a fairy tale — and it’s not for Christians either. All the sacred, sanctifying testimonies of exemplary marriages in the world wouldn’t be enough to even get close to fairytale status.

It IS sanctifying, stretching, and absolutely sweet (even when you’re passive-aggressively rearranging the dishwasher or arguing about whose turn it is to clean up the dog vomit at 3am).
⠀
The truth? Unrealistic expectations can quietly sabotage your connection. But you’re not doing this wrong—you’re just married to a human and figuring out how to do this thing.
⠀
In this new article, Anna unpacks the messy beauty of adjusting Christian marriage expectations and learning to love in the actual real world. 🫶

Okay, you don’t need therapy — you just need Jesus.
👀 But also: you can’t sleep, can’t focus, can’t breathe without bracing for impact.

We love Jesus too — and He often works through wise counsel, safe space, and soul-tending care. Therapy isn’t a lack of faith. Not when mental health challenges are often a sign that your faith is under attack. Not when God can use whatever he wants to care for His people (including medication and therapy).
It’s a way to keep fighting, keep trusting, keep moving forward in hope. 💛

✨ You can pray and process. You can be a servant and set boundaries. You can trust God and seek healing for the wounds you’ve learned to live with.

Let’s break the stigma. Let’s tell the truth. Let’s heal.

Depression whispers, “You’re alone.” But healing begins when we let someone in.
When you’re in the fog—hurting, tired, numb, heavy—it can feel like no one gets it. But isolation only deepens the ache.

God didn’t design us to fight these battles alone. We were made for connection. And sometimes, that connection looks like sitting across from someone who listens, understands, and helps you take the next right step.

💛 Meet Bethany, our depression specialist at Dwell Christian Therapy. With training in CBT and DBT, she brings warmth, skill, and unwavering hope to every session. Whether you’re navigating deep sadness, apathy, or just wondering if things will ever feel different—she’s here to walk with you.
Not to fix you.
But to remind you that you’re not alone.
And to be an instrument in the hands of a very good God, right in the messy middle.

📍Available in-person in Greensboro, NC & virtually across the state.

“She let herself get chubby.”
It was a passing comment, made casually in front of a teenage girl. But it echoed a deeper lie so many of us have heard: that our worth is measured by our weight.
Diet culture has shaped how we see ourselves and each other—often in ways we don’t even realize. It masks itself as “health,” “discipline,” or “beauty,” but underneath it is fear, control, and shame.
As Christians, we must ask:
What does it mean to honor God with our bodies without idolizing thinness?
How do we recognize and resist the lies we’ve been sold?
You are not a problem to fix.
You are not a number on a chart.
You are an image-bearer of a good and intentional God.

✨Meet Anna✨

We know, we’ve already introduced her, but we want to do it again in case you weren’t around the first time! And because it can be rare to find a qualified, Christian therapist with SATURDAY availability😳

Ok so a few key points…
- anxiety expert extraordinaire (I’m telling you, she’s really good 😊)
- CBT is the magic sauce (ok therapy isn’t magic, but the right tools when used by the right therapist can feel that way!)
- a passion for men in ministry who get overlooked because they’re supposed to the the strong spiritual leaders (a unique niche she thrives in)
- creative at her core (whether she’s gardening, honing her sourdough craft, or problem solving in session, her wheels are turning)
- her joy is contagious (for Anna, life is just so full, and when you’re with her you feel like you’re home)

Anna is accepting new clients and would love to be a small part of your journey if therapy is the next step for you.

If you’re in NC, just call us at 336-864-5435 or shoot Anna an email at anna@dwellministry.org

Meet Bethany!

Although it’s hard to describe her in a single insta post, here is Bethany in a nutshell…
a compassionate, highly skilled clinician with a heart for teens and young adults walking through some of life’s hardest seasons. Whether you’re navigating self-harm, suicidal thoughts, the transition after hospitalization, or just feel lost as a parent trying to support your teen — you don’t have to face it alone.

Bethany specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps teens build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationship skills. This Fall, she’ll be leading in-person DBT groups designed specifically for teens who need a safe space to grow, heal, and connect.

If your teen or a young adult you know is struggling — or if you are as a parent — help is here. There’s hope. There’s a path forward. And we’d be honored to walk it with you.

✨ Now accepting new clients across North Carolina (in-person in Greensboro or virtually statewide).

Marriage isn’t always easy — even when you both love Jesus. 💔❤️‍🩹 But there’s hope.
Christian marriage therapy is a gift of grace, not a last resort. It’s a space for healing, reconnection, and rediscovering how to love like Christ — with humility, patience, and purpose.
In this post, we explore how faith-based counseling can strengthen your bond, restore trust, and invite Christ deeper into your relationship.
If you’re feeling disconnected, weary, or just want to grow together — this is for you.
