HOW ARE SORE EYES TREATED?

Treatment depends on the type of sore eyes you have. Sore eyes can be caused by a virus, bacteria or allergies. There is no specific treatment for viral conjunctivitis, as your immune system will fight the virus on its own. You may place a cool, wet washcloth over your eyes to ease the discomfort. Your ophthalmologist may prescribe antibiotic eye drops for bacterial conjunctivitis. For allergic conjunctivitis, your ophthalmologist may recommend certain eye drops or ointment.

FACTS ABOUT CATARACTS

A cataract is a condition in which the natural lens of your eyes becomes cloudy, causing your vision to be blurry or hazy. The most common cause is aging, which causes normal eye changes after age 40. Vision changes caused by cataracts include blurry vision, seeing double or a ghosted image, extra sensitivity to light, difficulty seeing well at night or needing more light when you read, and seeing bright colors as faded or yellow instead.

WHAT IS OCULAR MIGRAINE?

Ocular migraine is a type of migraine that occurs in one eye and involves visual disturbances that usually last less than an hour. The visual changes can occur before, during, or after a migraine headache. Although its symptoms are temporary and is not considered a serious condition, ocular migraine can interfere with daily activities such as reading, writing, or driving.
