Take the time to learn how to breathe. There is no greater friend in life. It is one of the few things that are consistently with you from the moment you are born to the moment you die. Every aspect of your life will change. Your personality, values and thoughts, your home, your friends, your family, status and body will all transform with time. But the breathe is the only constant part of you. Perhaps the only part of you as well. Don’t wait to get to know you.

Did you know that both inhales and exhales should be done via your nose? Specific powerful mouth exhales are helpful in specific situations. Namely, when energy needs to be released (anger, fear etc.). They are done in tandem with body movements to maximize their effectiveness.

These are some of the practical tools that a school, company, practice or individual can use in day to day settings. Thank you for the opportunity to share some fundamentals about breathing and posture techniques.

In stressful times, you might even catch yourself holding your breath or gasping a little bit.

But if you try to do diaphragm breathing (or belly breathing), you can have a bit more control over activating your body’s relaxation response: releasing the tension and making you comfy.

Belly breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, allowing a more balanced breath when integrated together with thoracic breathing (aka chest breathing) thing can help you reduce your self-criticism and increases the vitality in your body.

How do we do it?

🌿 Start by laying down comfortably
🌿Put one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest
🌿When you breathe, make sure you see your belly is rising on the inhale and collapsing on the exhale while keeping your chest still
🌿Try to do the same thing when standing up and seated

The point of this practice is to reintegrate this into your natural breathing, not to breathe for the sake of belly breathing.

Healing. It only becomes a choice when you have the adequate tools and your body’s nervous and glandular systems are set up appropriately.

Don’t cheat yourself...If you have tried for a long time but have not gotten results. If you are trying to heal, but do not see a general step by step way to take your body and mind back to a place of peace: find something better to do!

Whether you like it or not, you are the master of this body you live in. The question is whether you are educated, ready and energized enough to make the correct adjustments that will prove to be successful.
