Resolutions often only address actions and are thus one-dimensional. Save more cash. Eat healthier. Behaviors are not very motivating, and when a specific resolution is broken, discouragement, guilt, and humiliation set in.

On the other side, your vision is a rich tapestry of whom you want to be and how you want your life to be. Your vision serves as a light that directs you in the direction of living your greatest life. Your vision will motivate you to discover a solution.

The Lion’s Breath is a Pranayama breathing technique that helps you release stress, flush out toxins, and energize yourself!

Lion's Breath can be done alone as a solitary practice, but it's a great way to perform before starting a stressful week.

Here is a step-by-step guide on performing Lion's Breath:

Kneel down, resting your feet under your butt, torso upright.

Straighten your arms and place your hands on your knees.

Imagine your hands like claws by spreading your fingers as widely as you can.

Your tongue should be extended to your chin as you open your mouth widely.

Breathe in deeply through your nose.

Exhale through your mouth to make a “ha” sound.

Go back to your starting point. 5-7 times.

Kundalini energy is defined as the coiled serpent power that resides within all living beings and humans.

But, coping mechanisms and behavior based on trauma can tell that you might have a wounded inner child.

So how do you work with your inner child?

You take up a parent role, then correct misconceptions and unresolved issues that interfere with your lifestyle. Then you start yourself, as the inner child, with a series of questions about your forgotten dreams, expectations, hopes, and fears.

You can do it somewhere serene and relaxing. And when you’re ready, ask questions like this:

“If you were to advise your adult self, what would you tell them? What would you want this adult to remember about you?”

This question addresses any self-esteem issues you have by accepting your flaws. It gets you to open up about how you view yourself and how you would wish those around you to see you.

In stressful times, you might even catch yourself holding your breath or gasping a little bit.

But if you try to do diaphragm breathing (or belly breathing), you can have a bit more control over activating your body’s relaxation response: releasing the tension and making you comfy.

Belly breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, allowing a more balanced breath when integrated together with thoracic breathing (aka chest breathing) thing can help you reduce your self-criticism and increases the vitality in your body.

How do we do it?

🌿 Start by laying down comfortably
🌿Put one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest
🌿When you breathe, make sure you see your belly is rising on the inhale and collapsing on the exhale while keeping your chest still
🌿Try to do the same thing when standing up and seated

The point of this practice is to reintegrate this into your natural breathing, not to breathe for the sake of belly breathing.
