Barangay Cuatro on the Go!

A Healthy Young Ones Session was successfully conducted by Ms. Amy Doloriac, Barangay IV Midwife, for the adolescents of Barangay Cuatro.

During their practice break, Ms. Doloriac took the opportunity to deliver a quick yet meaningful lecture on Adolescent Health, emphasizing the importance of the slogan “Isip-Isip Before You Unzip.”

The discussion highlighted the rising cases of adolescent pregnancy and focused on preventive measures to help young individuals make informed and responsible choices.

Another successful session on Healthy Young Ones was conducted by the ever-dedicated, dynamic, and hardworking Midwife of Barangay V, Ms. Imelda Libo-on, together with the supportive Barangay Health Workers who assisted during the lecture.

Adolescents actively participated and listened attentively as they learned accurate and essential information on Sexual and Reproductive Health. Following the session, a HEEADSSS assessment was carried out to evaluate psychosocial concerns among the participants, ensuring that appropriate interventions and support could be provided.

Kudos to Ms. Libo-on and the Barangay V Health Team for their continued commitment to promoting adolescent health and well-being!

An informative session on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) was conducted for the adolescents of Barangay V, led by Ms. Imelda Libo-on, the dedicated Midwife of the barangay. The activity aimed to equip young individuals with accurate knowledge and a better understanding of their sexual and reproductive well-being.

Ms. Libo-on ensured that the adolescents not only enjoyed the serene surroundings of Barangay V’s park but also went home empowered with the right information about sexuality, responsible behavior, and making informed choices. A key highlight of the session was the discussion on Teenage Pregnancy Awareness, emphasizing the importance of the advocacy slogan, “Isip-Isip Before You Unzip.”

Look! The adolescents of Barangay IV eagerly participated in the Healthy Young Ones Class conducted by the dedicated Barangay Midwife, Ms. Amy Doloriac.

The session covered essential topics such as Puberty, Reproduction and Responsibility, Adolescent Nutrition, STI/HIV/AIDS, and Teenage Pregnancy and its consequences.

Silay City Population Office in collaboration with the Silay City Primary Care Facility- Adolescent Health and Development Program and Silay City Peer Educators held the Adlaw sang Kabataang Silaynon Part III with the theme, “Bida ang Pamatan-on: Maayong Panghunahuna, Maayong Pangabuhi” at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center, October 17, 2025.

Present during the event were guests from the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) – Negros Island Region, headed by Dr. Jonathan Dioteles, Assistant Regional Director, together with Ma’am Gretchen Jamorin and Sir Alemeth Carl Visorro. Also in attendance was Dr. Vanessa Mahrie Madayag, Assistant Head of the City Primary Care Facility (PCF).

Representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) were likewise present to show their support.

The celebration was actively participated by students from both public and private schools in Silay City. The Silay Peer Educators led the lectures busting myths about adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

The discussions focused on key topics such as:

🔸Puberty
🔸Nutrition
🔸Gender and Health, SOGIE
🔸STI, HIV, AIDS
🔸Reproduction and Responsibility

Each session was made livelier through interactive and educational games where participants eagerly competed for exciting prizes.

In the afternoon, each school showcased their talents reflecting the creativity and energy of Silay’s young people. The event concluded on an inspiring note with a community song and dance to “Fight Song”, symbolizing the strength, hope, and unity of the Silaynon youth.

Our sincerest gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Silay, headed by Hon. Mayor Joedith C. Gallego, for the unwavering support and commitment to all programs that empower and nurture the youth.

Congratulations to the Silay City Population Office, led by Ma’am Sheila Calma, City Civil Registrar, and Ma’am Ilone Magallanes, Population Program Officer-Designate, for the successful conduct of this meaningful activity.
