Do you have any of these cravings?🍫🍬🧂

In clients with PCOS, carbs and sugar are more often a craving due to high circulating levels of insulin and 🎢 blood sugar. It’s not your fault! Together we work to get to the root cause and eliminate the cravings!

If cravings are new and intense, sometimes this is our body’s way of talking to us! While it isn’t always the case, it’s something that shouldn’t be ignored!

Is weight loss more than calories in vs. calories out?⬇️

YES! Especially for females. In order to maintain a healthy weight and avoid dramatic ups and downs and ultimately avoid chronic diseases and inflammation!

Common dynamics at play:
1. Insulin Resistance: high glycemic diet (refined sugars and flours) and chronic stress. This leads to low energy and fat storage.
2. Genetics: hypothalamic leptin-melanocortin pathway, including MC4R, leptin and ghrelin levels
3. Hormone Imbalances: Thyroid dysfunction, estrogen dominance or low testosterone
4. Mental Health + Stress: high cortisol levels leads to insulin resistance and causes those pesky cravings! There are often emotions associated with food especially as a source of comfort.
5. Food sensitivities: can cause inflammation and weight gain.
6. Toxins: hormone disrupting chemicals lead to stress and detox issues. Mold, pesticides, plastics, heavy metals all can interfere with our detox pathways, sleep, etc. causing weight gain.
7. Medications: Many medications and medical treatments can cause weight gain
8. Sedentary Lifestyle: movement is so important especially for many reasons above - helps to decrease insulin resistance, improves mental health, and sweating is a form of detoxification!

Good News?
All of these can be addressed using personalized testing to find root cause, custom nutrition, protocols and support/accountability to make lifestyle changes in order to sustain and maintain a healthy weight!
