⚠️ Utilizing a BOSU ball for squats is ineffective, because it does not allow you to strengthen your body compared to the exact same movement performed on solid ground. This makes sense, since having a solid foundation allows for more ground reaction forces to be applied, and therefore more power into the weight.
⚖️ BALANCE - While you may think that utilizing the Bosu improves balance, when you really dig into the research studies...you’ll easily find that the best way to improve balance is to improve your body’s strength.
🚨 SAFETY - So if improving your strength, improves your balance...then why put yourself at risk of falling off the ball, or twisting your ankles, thus injuring yourself?
✅ With all of this in mind, I strongly (pun intended, haha) recommend you utilize free weights (like dumbbells & kettlebells) for these performing squats...on a stable surface. That’s what we do
