Recently a client said to me that she noticed she was shrinking, physically becoming smaller in the presence of a narcissist. We talked about how this was a trauma response and her nervous system was keeping her small to protect her. We talked through how she deserved to take up space and how all her feelings are valid. It's ok to struggle and we are enough exactly as we are.

They can take pleasure in torturing, mocking, humiliating. They ask lots of questions during the love bombing phase only to weaponize & use this information against you later.

Sometime the exploitative behavior looks like them treating you like an ATM machine to fund their lifestyle.
