It’s important to focus on healthy and balanced foods to provide essential nutrients for your growing baby

Red meat, nuts & seeds, leafy greens (broccoli, asparagus, spinach), fish, eggs, and citrus fruit 🍊

All these foods have folate, protein, and vitamins that are crucial for development

‼️however ‼️
It can be difficult to eat balanced, or eat much of anything in your first trimester. If this is you, focus on eating when and what you can, your body and baby need calories and energy to keep growing

Most of us know the basics of what not to eat, but do we know why? Do we know what we SHOULD be eating?

What is our favourite source of protein is fish, and now we’re afraid of eating too much?!

YOU deserve the full picture when it comes to prenatal nutrition

Taking a deeper dive into foods (fish, soft cheese, herbal teas etc.) makes you aware and question all the guidelines and lists you come across online

Boost for Laurie Anne Muldoon (MSW, RSW, BScN) and her upcoming support group for Ontario parents "Heart Song"

"Heart Song is a 9-week online therapeutic support group for anyone who has given birth regardless of their gender identity. If you are in the first 2 years postpartum, and you are struggling with adjusting to parenthood this group will explore several important themes in a safe and welcoming online community. Themes include impossible parenting culture, parenting guilt, birth and parenting during a pandemic and more. A maximum of 6 participants will be able to register for the session.

The meetings will be take place on Wednesdays between 1:00-2:30 pm beginning January 19, 2022. Meetings will take place on a secure virtual platform. Each week will explore a new theme to guide the discussion. Music and poetry as well as Mindful Self Compassion exercises will be offered as well."

Respond to stress: Learning techniques to respond to stress in the moment, as well as to chronic stress, can help you better cope with whatever life presents you.

Slow down your breathing, relax your body & mind

Prevent stress: You can prevent most severe stress responses by putting a plan in place to build up your Resilience.

Multitasking can increase the possibility of making mistakes, which takes up more of your time in the long run!
