🚗 South Australia has introduced important changes to the Disability Parking Permit (DPP) scheme, expanding eligibility from 1 July 2025.
People with cognitive, behavioural, and neurological disabilities - including those with autism, brain injuries, or dementia — can now apply for a permit. Legally blind passengers are also eligible for the first time.
These updates reflect a growing recognition that not all disabilities are visible. The changes follow earlier reforms in the ACT and show a national shift toward more inclusive and accessible parking policy.
If you manage buildings, facilities, or car parks, this is the time to review how your accessible bays are managed and protected.
