Good morning
Struggling mightily with seasonal allergies. Even though got a workout in yesterday, surely taxing on the breathing.
Highly medicated, & fortunately some new meds have helped a bit to provide relief.
Will do another workout today, mostly triceps & push.
Anyone else struggling with allergies?

Doing some heavy ball pickups from a seated position. 90 lb slam ball for 6 reps off an 18” box.
To illicit muscle adaptations the lifts must be challenging so the body knows to signal muscle growth. Can’t be lifts that just go through the motions. That would be considered cardio.
This is a key understanding if we want the body to change & create ideal composition.
Took me a long time to really understand that especially for those of us that aren’t genetically gifted or on anabolics.
I, like most of struggle with thos until we learn & implement this.

Hit a bench PR today. I have poor shoulders that are arthritic which make my bench a challenge.
To mitigate injury I rely on a slingshot. It provides some assistance, but more importantly for me it keeps me in a sold & consistent position when benching. I also add 20 lbs of chain weight so the unrack & lockout are more challenging, & my triceps get a bit of extra work during the lifts.
Here is 280 weight + 20 lbs chain weight.

Did some technical work with the deadlift. Great for ensuring the reps are strong through a good range of motion, but also slowed them down to practice the technique. Should come in handy for the grinders at heavier weights. 300 lbs for 5 here on the 3rd working set.

Good variation here for front squats. If you have difficulty with front squat movement or front rack positions, this variation can be a great sub for that. Landmine front squat. Mimics the pattern, & permits you to get depth also.

Hit some slant board squats with accommodating resistance. 180 lbs bar weight on bison bar, 40 lbs chain weight.
Slant board really permitted me to get a deep squat on these.

Did some seated good mornings on a mobility day. Even with just the bar (50lb bison bar) I got a good stretch through the hamstrings, lower, & mid back.
My form still needs improvement, in which my back & head should be more straight & upright.
