Just want to give a new update. They are removing the stint today. His creatinine is at 1.6 and his GFR is at 56.6. all is going great!

13/09/2022

Hey everyone I just wanted to give the newest information to everyone. Blood test today showed his creatinine is at a 1.8 and his GFR is up to a 48.2! Normal range for each is creatinine 0.5 - 1.4 and GFR is >60. We are almost there! God is so very good! Please keep praying and thanking God for this amazing blessing. We have a long ways to go still when it comes to the doctors visits slowing down but we have had good news almost everytime we go. Also, please continue to keep the donors family in your prayers as well. We all know their journey with losing a loved one is a painful journey, so please continue to pray from them to have comfort and peace knowing that their loved one has helped so many others because of being a donor.

Just got the test results back from the blood work he went and did today… his creatinine is down from the 4.1 to a 2.8 and his GFR is up to a 28.8 from 17.9 ! His new kidney is waking up and starting to function a lot better! I believe they would like his creatine to be around a 1 so keep the prayers going up, God is hearing them all!

So the doctor just came in and said that because he creatinine dropped a good bit with fluids and the GFR went up, she wants him to drink at least 6 bottles of water a day and to come back for the ultrasound on Tuesday. With it being the holiday weekend and his levels look so good it can wait for an outpatient visit rather than staying it the hospital for the next 2 days… We are getting to go back home!

04/09/2022

So good news from the new blood results! Praise God! His creatinine went down from a 5.1 yesterday to a 4.1 ! His eGFR went up from a 13.8 up to a 17.9 ! This is awesome news y’all! We have a long ways to go still but they are moving in the right direction now. Prior to a blessing from a stranger that was a perfect 6/6 match, his Creatinine was a 6.7 and his eGFR was at a 10.0! Please continue to pray for the donor family that lost a loved one. Pray that they will have peace and know that God is with them thru this heartbreaking time that they are going thru.

They came in this morning and took blood to which we are waiting for the results on. Also, still waiting on them to do the ultrasound. Please pray that we get good results back!

03/09/2022

Blood test came back, his Creatinine is back down to a 5.1 and GFR is up to 13.8, so that is good news. They are giving him fluids til tomorrow and then redoing the ultrasound.

03/09/2022

Heading back to the hospital this evening. They called and want to give him fluids overnight and the redo the ultrasound and if it looks okay tomorrow evening they will let him go back home, it not he will stay admitted until they get results they want to see.

03/09/2022

So we went for an ultrasound for his new kidney today because of the creatinine level going from 5.1 to 5.8 and the nurse sent back that the doctor review it and that there “no indication for treatment at this time.” so please continue to keep him in your prayer that the creatinine will start going down again and the next blood results will return levels going down like we are hoping they will.

02/09/2022

Today we went to do bloodwork and met with the new coordinator, most of the bloodwork was all good and going it the right direction. His creatinine went down to a 5.1 yesterday morning before we left the hospital yesterday but has gone up to a 5.8 today. They are wanting his creatinine to go down to around 1ish. So it going up is alittle concerning. We have to go back to New Orleans tomorrow so they can do an ultrasound of the kidney to make sure nothing is going wrong. They went up on one of the anti rejection medicines because it was still lower than they want it to be. So please pray that all will be good tomorrow with the kidney and that it is all just the medication that is still not where they need it to be and that will be what they have to do to get it going back down. Each day he is moving more and feeling alittle better. So keep praying for positive results as we move forward.

Ready to go home! Just waiting ’til they come let us know it’s time to roll out! Thank you to all who have made donations to help with gas expenses, and food expenses! We have to be back at 8am in the morning for labs and appointments and then several times a week for the next 3 months then it will slowly taper off. Since the transplant his creatinine has went from a 6.7 down to a 5.1 and they said it will continue coming down slowly! Please continue to pray! We appreciate all the love and support! We will continue to keep you all updated thru the process! May God bless each and everyone that is following!

We will be going home today! They said it will not be til later this afternoon ( The nurse said it takes all day of the day shift)!

31/08/2022

So this morning they will do more blood work the check how the kidney is doing. They have taken out the catheter and he will be getting up to walk around more. They are still trying to get his blood pressure stabilized with all the new meds but that is expected.

30/08/2022

The doctors came in and checked on him, they want him to walk around a couple of times today. They said everything is looking good. The ultrasound looked good and all the blood work is looking better. They will do more testing tomorrow and if all goes well he may be able to go home tomorrow evening or Thursday morning. We will have to come back about 3 times a week for blood work and doctors visits to continually check things until they get all the medications right.

This morning we got good news, his creatinine went from 6.9 before the surgery to 5.4 today which means the new kidney is functioning!

💚💚💚 He spent 2 1/2 hours sitting in a chair watching a movie. It was very painful getting out of the bed and sitting upright but he made it thru it. Tomorrow he will start walking the halls, so please continue to pray from strength and healing as we move forward. 💚💚💚

So this morning has been rough on him, but all is good. They are going to do another ultrasound so make sure everything is looking good. His urine put out is good. They are waiting on the blood test results but they said all looks good so far. They will have him get up later this evening and sit up in a chair and try to get him moving around. The nurse said the first 24 hours will be the hardest on him but that after that the pain will not be as bad. So keep the prayers coming!
