Meditation and the Mind
The mind does not like meditation because if you keep the body still, the mind will also naturally become still. This is why so much stress has been laid in yoga on hatha yoga and asanas. If you just learn how to keep your body absolutely still, then your mind will also become still. I want you to just observe yourself and see how many unnecessary movements your body makes when you stand, sit or speak. If you look at your life, you will see that more than half the time is taken up in these things that you yourself don’t care for.

If you keep the body still, the mind will slowly start collapsing and the mind knows that it will become enslaved if it allows this. The main aspect of meditation is, right now your mind is the boss and you are the slave. As you meditate and become more meditative, you will become the boss and your mind will become the slave and that is how it should always be. If you don’t know how to keep the mind as a slave, it will put you through all kinds of endless suffering. If you allow the mind to rule, it is a terrible master. But as a slave, the mind is wonderful – it is a miraculous slave.

so what the page is for you might ask🧘
so I am speaking from experience now sometimes we all hit that dark place and everywhere you turn its seems like your on your own , lonely no one understands no one cares well that's how i felt but I was wrong I stopped doing the things I loved like surfing I had real thumb up bum mind in neutral pushed people away i was on real self destruct mode ,relationships going down the drain and pretending everything was ok lying to others and myself took me a long time to realise it but the only person who could change this was me
so at the latter part of 2020 I started to do yoga which has great benefits for the mind and body I started to lose weight then I decided to rescue my surfboard bought myself a new wetsuit the unfortunately covid had us back in lockdown but I manged to get out on the waves at the start of April and I cant explain that feeling of the walking down to the sea with surfboard under my arm and catching that first wave and the feeling it bought to me again and how I had missed those feelings.
So I am creating this page for people to join my first thoughts it would be for veterans as I am former Royal Marine but i would like it to be for anyone, as the dark days can affect all of us.

The Aim is to get people out surfing and feeling the benefits of what the ocean and waves can bring I know it works for me its not a therapy session or anything like that its a way of sharing on how we are feeling and what we can achieve and making you realise you not alone and above all its fun.I also own a deli so when things get back to somewhat normal we will use it as a HQ and have coffee/tea days and chat, its early days and i don't know how its going to evolve but unless I try i wont know . This is why we work hard for days like this πŸ™‚
so a 06:00 start wakey wakey and its blooming cold a quiet drive on the roads, arrive in Braunton meet young Jake Elsmore load up his car onwards to Saunton sands (still cold ), unload the boards get into wetsuits and boots (still cold) take the short walk then you get that feeling of yes we are here the waves looking good and clean a few people already out there, into the water surprising not too cold , an easy paddle out after waiting a few minuets in they come Jake is up and at it happy days then its my turn caught the wave but not up but the wave carried me in lovely so back out wave after Jake is right on it but this older man needs to sort out his surf fitness tired arms legs and body πŸ™‚ but we kept catching the waves so a brilliant first day back in the water lots of fun and great company being in the water with Jake looking forward to the next time Namaste πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ„
