One of the key elements to improving overall health is to notice when the body is in a constant state of fight or flight (i.e. overwhelm). This means the body is in hyperarousal mode and is getting no relief. It’s important to calm the nervous system otherwise it begins to shut down and everything the body experiences can be a stressor. Unless the body learns how to relax and control the triggers of stress, the body will be exposed to stress hormones that can disrupt most of the body’s processes.
