Lillie’s Scan Update 💛

We got the results back, and Lillie’s scans are stable. 🙏 There are some tiny spots that are a little bigger, and some that are a little smaller—but most importantly, there’s been no significant growth. That means we’re continuing with her current treatment regimen.

It’s not the miracle we long for, but it’s also not progression—and right now, that’s something to be grateful for.

Thank you for standing with us through the fear, the waiting, the unknowns. Your prayers, good thoughts, messages, and love mean more than we can say. We keep holding on. We keep hoping. We keep fighting. 💛

Thank you for the birthday wishes. 45. Whew, I’m feeling it these days. I’m thankful to be here to care for her though.
Back at it today. Lillie woke up with tears streaming down her face because her port was exposed and barely hanging on. It was painful. We rushed to the hospital and all is well now but they scare you half to death about infections, which I know is a big risk. She’s okay though. We had to park in Valet because I was by myself and she was in pain. Gotta pay for that one later.
I could use some help this week with a few DoorDash meals for Lillie and some help with groceries. That trip to SC hurt. We are still moving in stages and had to pay for a trailor to bring back with us.
Thank you for helping us. It is humbling to ask for help and I feel super emotional every time that I do.

Yesterday was the first day in 13 days that Lillie felt good enough to go and do something. We went to church and then visited a few nearby parks. To say that this past chemo cycle was hard is an understatement. The after side effects felt like they would not end. She has the next 7 days to feel “normal” before she begins again. She wants to do all the things this week. She wants to go to the aquarium and the Renaissance Fair. If you’d like to pitch in and help with her fun week, that would be amazing. I’ll post the link in my Venmo.
We are really loving TX. When we eventually do make the move, we won’t be in the city and we will miss it. I love city life. I love being in the heart of it all.
Andrew is hoping that he can join us in the next month or so. We will all be glad to have a real bed again. 😊

Lillie has officially been a patient at MD Anderson for 16 days. We’ve been to the hospital off and on, 9 of those days so far. I think they may tire of us.
We are in the ER today. She’s getting fluids for dehydration and medicine for tummy issues from the chemo. Side effects hit her hard on Sunday. We hope to go home tonight.

Last day of chemo this week and she feels so much better than yesterday! Whew, yesterday was one for the books. I hate seeing her in pain.
Two weeks off of chemo. A weekend to rest is in our future. ❤️

Pain in her jaw, sore throat and lots of nausea today. Please pray for relief. Hard day.

Long day today. It was overwhelming at first with parking and finding our way through this huge facility but by the end of the day, things got better and things calmed down. It took forever for chemo to begin. Lots of test needed to be done beforehand. But when we were taken upstairs, we were given a nice hospital room with a bed and a comfy chair for me. We are normally just in a cubicle for outpatient chemo so this was a treat. Lillie ordered her a meal and finally slept the rest of the afternoon. It was a long 8 hour day but she did it. Now to do it all again the rest of the week. She came home, ate dinner and has been asleep since 7pm.

An update…. I do try to update these very regularly.

Lillie’s scan results are back. From what we can tell is that there is good news and bad news. Good news. It doesn’t look like any new nodules have formed. Bad news is that the larger ones that she has, have grown. 2 of them have grown a lot in just over a month. I haven’t discussed this with the dr yet but we are getting good at reading Mychart these days.
We are discouraged but we are positive that moving her care to MD Anderson is the best possible thing that we can do. We leave tomorrow. Please be in prayers for these things if they come to mind.
-Our Trip. The safety and that Lillie will handle it well. We will be staying overnight in Mobile.
-Our appt on Tuesday. Please pray that Lillie will feel welcomed and that they will provide exactly what she needs. Please pray for treatments that will rid this awful disease.
-Please pray that we will find a great support group. We will be looking for a church and a co-op. Please pray that we all make friends quickly.
-Pray that Andrew and all the animals can join us asap. I know Lillie loves her cats. They are her support animals.
-Pray that God would guide our steps.
Thank you!
