has FINALLY evolved to !!!!

I bow to you, Universe, with tears in my eyes for the lovely conversation I enjoyed this morning with a complete stranger.

It started with “What are those!” and ended in “Go in peace, brother!”

And the perfect embodiment for our conversation is right here in my hand. Card 3; Next Step:

This deck’s illustrator ( , ) has thankfully given us a contemporary view into the mind of the characters we see suffering in the RWS deck (no hate, all honour to Pamela C. Smith). Two people digging in the ground after buried treasure, totally unaware that in the process they have already uncovered their cache in full!

My new acquaintance and I shared some thoughts over the relentless hamster wheel that we subject ourselves to, focused entirely on the cheese-on-a-string and oblivious to the relationships, the purpose, the pleasure all around us.

“Stop running!” Screamed my guides. “Listen to this stranger’s voice and see the riches you seek in the company of brotherly love and in the eyes of a sentience otherwise unknown to us in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE. What. A. Gift.

The rest of the spread will just be my little secret… nothing personal, I’m just running out of characters.

So go out! Share moments. Hear stories. Tell tales!

Here’s to a little midday …

Not quite or I had been envisioning, but a beautifully illustrated card and excellent take on the more traditional idea of personified (ref. RWS’s Justice card).

How often does our personal sense of justice bristle with indignation when fairness takes a back seat to agenda? Iranian women’s protests; rubble still quivering in Turkey; hospitals collapsing amidst screams in the Ukraine.

It often takes a loooooong moment for the swing of the scales to compensate and for karma to muscle her way in, but down on my personal ground zero, this card is giving me a wakening slap across the proverbial visage.

Moments aren’t fair and justice isn’t prophylactic - it creeps and grows like ivy on an abandoned castle, reclaiming to the earth what was once scavenged from her via pickax and explosives.

So while my Guides are right (as usual) in echoing life’s greatest lesson, “life isn’t fair” will be my mantra for the rest of this workday. My job is not to keep manic lookout for injustice (I just can’t keep imposing whiplash on myself); my job is to keep steady and pass the bucket of equity to put out the flames of consumerism, greed, and maniacal disregard one smoldering heap at a time.

Love justice! Seek mercy! Walk humbly! Pull cards!
