KYS March 2026 Newsletter🌱

Cracks are often misunderstood. We see them as signs of damage, something that must be quickly repaired or hidden.

Yet cracks often reveal where life has pressed deeply enough to change us.

In nature, life emerges through cracks.Grass grows through fractured ground.Roots break open the pots that once contained them.

Human lives are not very different.
Sometimes the places that feel broken are also the places where something new begins to emerge.

At Kite Your Soul (KYS), our March theme is Honoring the Cracks. In therapy this month, we will be gently exploring these soulful openings by following the subtle trails of light that often appear through life’s fractures, revealing deeper strengths and inner callings.

🔎Therapy Lens / Wabi Sabi
From the therapy room at Kite Your Soul

Each month at Kite Your Soul, I reflect on the practical application of a philosophical idea that shapes my understanding of healing and the human experience in the therapy room during my consultations.

The Shoshin seedling of January has grown into Wabi-Sabi in February, waiting to see what it sprouts up in March.
If Shoshin invites us to look at life with openness, Wabi-Sabi invites us to accept what we begin to see.
At Kite Your Soul, the reflection on Wabi-Sabi this February was all about accepting the imperfect, the unfinished, and the deeply human parts of our lives. It reminds us that life does not need to be flawless to be meaningful. Often the beauty of a life lies in the story that carries both joy and scars.
In therapy, many people arrive believing something within them is “not right.” Yet very often, what they call flaws are simply parts of themselves that were trying to survive.
This is where the idea of the shadow becomes important.
The Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung described the shadow as the unconscious aspects of our personality , the parts of ourselves that do not fit the image we believe we should be, or the expectations placed upon us by family and society.

The shadow is not necessarily dark. Sometimes it simply contains the parts of us that were never allowed to be seen, expressed, or understood.
Through the therapeutic lens of Wabi-Sabi, I often invite people to gently look toward these hidden parts with curiosity and compassion. When we begin to acknowledge and integrate these aspects of ourselves, We begin to feel more whole.
If you wish to explore your own shadow work, I warmly invite you to the therapy space at Kite Your Soul.
To learn more about Wabi-Sabi in action and how we can integrate parts of our shadow in life, I invite you to read the complete reflection on the blog.

Nervous system regulation is everywhere these days.
But what does it actually mean?🌸

Is it just a trend or something our ancient wisdom already understood as Samatvam?
Watch this reel till the end.🤍
Regulation is not New … We may just be remembering it now!!

February has always felt different to me. It’s the shortest month with 28 days, but miraculously leaps to 29 days every four years. Distinct for its shortness & the most misspelt month of the year. As a child, it felt memorable simply because it didn’t follow the usual rhythm of the calendar. There’s something intentional about its brevity just like a sacred silence in time.🍁
February is always the month of Siva for me, as Maha Shivaratri is the night of deep stillness, when Shiva rises from meditation and life begins to stir again, falling in the month of Phalguna. It marks a threshold between retreat and return. 🌿
It seems as if the whole planet sifts up what was dormant and begins to prepare for movement.
Across traditions, this time is honoured as a moment of inner renewal.
Nature reminds us that nothing remains forever. Trees shed. Snakes loosen old skins. The earth withdraws before it welcomes new life. Impermanence is the rhythm of life not death.

From a mental health perspective, shedding is psychological moltin i.e. the gradual release of patterns that once protected us but no longer serve us. Hyper-independence, people-pleasing, emotional numbing, and perfectionism are all examples of this.
But survival strategies are not always growth strategies. Letting go can feel uncomfortable, even lonely. Yet this in-between is often where renewal begins.

🧘‍♀️At Kite Your Soul, we hold therapeutic spaces for this exact season of inner shedding where old patterns are gently witnessed, the nervous system is regulated, and renewal is supported through embodied practices.

🍂Whether you are releasing old survival responses or standing in the fragile in-between of becoming, you don’t have to walk this alone.

🤍We hold a gentle space for this inner work each month.

A Step in our Journey 🤍
I had the honour of participating in ANCIPS 2026, i.e., the 77th Annual National Conference of the Indian Psychiatric Society, representing Kite Your Soul among some of the brightest minds in psychiatry.
🧠💫

It was an enriching experience learning about the latest developments in mental health, innovative therapies, and holistic approaches to wellbeing.
Every interaction reminded me why integrating mind, body, and soul care is at the heart of what we do at KYS.🤍
I am grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and bring back insights that will help me serve our community even better. 🌿

Rest is underrated.🤍

We live in a culture that ties self-worth to heavy words like productivity and efficiency ,chasing financial gains, achievements, and social validation through followers and likes.

I am not opposed to any of this if it genuinely brings someone fulfillment.

My intention in sharing this today is for those who value rest and often feel guilty for doing so.

Rest is peaceful, yet it is socially mislabelled as laziness. Many of us have been conditioned to believe that worth is earned through constant activity, making it difficult to feel deserving of rest whether for a few hours in a day or a few weeks in a month.

Yet rest is the subtle currency of happiness.
It may not attract applause on social media,
but it draws us closer to ourselves ,
to our inner voice, and to the innate human need to feel peaceful within,
before seeking validation outside.

At Kite Your Soul (KYS), our February newsletter theme is Rest : a natural continuation of January’s invitation to slow down. Together, these months form a living continuum of healing:

Slowing down → Resting → Healing → Returning home to self.

A gentle reminder that healing happens through safety, pacing, presence, and compassion where the nervous system softens, the mind settles, and the self feels safe enough to restore and renew.

The January theme at Kite Your Soul unfolded with a
The word "Shoshin" i.e. a beginner’s mind.

The societal performance pressure in January often arrives with urgency to create new goals, adopt new habits, and evolve into new versions of ourselves.

Shoshin, in Zen philosophy, reminds us to meet life with openness and humility rather than.

🌸To begin without rushing.
🌸To stay curious instead of demanding mastery.
🌸To allow ourselves to be present, even when we think we already know.

Throughout the month, I chose to return again and again to gentleness with my writing and reflections.
When we tell ourselves we must improve quickly or transform immediately, the body responds with tension. Growth that begins in threat rarely lasts.

At Kite Your Soul, January was not about fixing.
It was about softening rigid, self-created expectations.

In yoga psychotherapy, we know the body learns through experience. The nervous system responds to consistency, permission, and care.

🌸Shoshin allowed us to say: I don’t have to know yet.
I can move slowly.

From the beginning where we are, not where we think we should be. We are allowed to begin slowly.
We are allowed not to know.

That, too, is growth.🌱

Social comparison is human,Self-compassion is a practice to Come back to yourself 🌱
Self-worth destabilizes when comparison becomes the reference.Regulation begins by returning to an internal standard.🌸

This Lohri, when I gazed into the flames & chanted “Isarr aaye, daliddar jaye,”
I found myself quietly witnessing my inner world.
A moment of metacognition, observing thoughts, sensations, and emotions with awareness.
Across Indian rituals and festivals, across cultures what we have inherited from our ancestors is far more than tradition. These rituals are embodied pathways for healing, working through mantra and symbolism.

What modern psychotherapy names regulation and emotional processing, these practices have supported for centuries now.
Fire refines. In metallurgy, fire burns away dross to reveal pure gold. Inner transformation works on same lines. The pure is left behind. The part that has completed is its role is released.

As a therapist I have witnessed that healing begins with self-awareness.
What is avoided or repressed continues to repeat often through the body and nervous system.

During our Yoga Psychotherapy sessions, the fire of the breath and the gut–mind axis gently process unaddressed emotions stored in the body.

Through conscious breathing, embodied presence, and regulation, the inner fire is gently activated. The nervous system softens. Unresolved emotional imprints are given space to surface, process, and release naturally.

Just as fire refines gold.

Perhaps this season is not asking us to rush into the new, but to honour what has already been refined within us and gently release what no longer needs to be carried.

If you feel called to explore this journey of integration and healing,
you are welcome to experience a one-to-one
Yoga Psychotherapy session at Kite Your Soul.

Happy 2026 🌸

✨ January Affirmation:
I allow myself to arrive slowly into safety, which is my foundation for growth.

January always arrives carrying a lot of self expectations.New goals, fresh starts, and the quiet pressure to get it right from day one.

Every year, I notice how almost everyone jump straight into planning and fixing, before giving time to appreciate the journey of life lived so far.

And , somehow Instead of celebrating progress, the New Year often becomes a time of quiet self-critique.

A few mornings ago, I caught myself doing exactly that.So I paused.Feet on the floor. Back against the chair. One slow breath.Nothing dramatic. Just grounding. I felt safe , I felt Home.

Before we begin anything new, we need to arrive.😊

At Kite Your Soul, January isn’t about rushing into becoming. It’s about settling into who you already are
and letting safety be the foundation for growth.

✨ January Affirmation:
I allow myself to arrive slowly into safety, which is my foundation for growth
