Sometimes when I read the news, I feel it in my body before my brain even catches up.
😣 A heaviness in my chest.
😡 A flash of anger.
😔 Or that helpless “ugh, what now?” feeling.

And if I don’t release it, I end up carrying it into everything — work, relationships, even sleep. (Not exactly the bedtime story I was going for…)

I know I'm not alone in that. Which is why I started a virtual tapping support group, Tap Out the News.

Not to vent or rehash headlines, but to actually release the emotional weight the news piles on (plus whatever else is going on in your life) using EFT Tapping — so you don’t carry it into your work, relationships, or sleep.

Icebergs are a lot like trauma.

“It’s so stupid that I’m still upset by this…”
I hear this all the time, and here’s why:

You’re basically a walking iceberg.
Above the water = your mind.
Below the water = your body.

Most of us try to work through stress by only focusing on what we can see.
So you talk it out, make sense of it… and still feel the same.

You’re not deficient.
This isn’t “mind over matter.”

Trauma lives in the body.
It stores the experiences your mind has already moved on from.
And it’s not just big-T trauma. Little things add up too.

So of course mindset work feels impossible when your body keeps pulling you into survival mode.

Next time you think you “should be over it,” remember:
Nothing is wrong with you.
You were just taught tools that only work with the top of the iceberg.

When you bring your body into the process, things shift in ways that actually last.

Do you know how to tell the difference between female and male monarch butterflies?

[Warning: nature facts ahead]

I was watching a few monarch butterflies on Sunday, flitting around like they didn’t have a care in the world.

It almost looked like play.
Here's the thing — monarchs can fly up to 250 miles in a single day during their migration. That “playful” flitting? It’s part of how they get where they’re going.

It made me contemplate… what if the same is true for us?

What if a little more lightness, a little more play, is actually what helps us move farther with less effort?

The problem is, when stress and overwhelm pile up, play is usually the first thing to go. It feels like there’s no time for it.

And yet, what if that very play is the thing that makes everything else flow?

This weekend I received a great reminder of the truth of this.

I could have forced myself to stay home and “get things done”. But instead, I indulged myself with fun in the great outdoors.

And you know what?
When I returned home I accomplished even more than I had originally planned.

But what’s more, it 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘦.

And that is the real game changer when it comes to doing tasks we really don’t want to do.

Remember Skip-It? That little plastic ankle thing from the 90s that counted your jumps?

I found this gem recently… and let’s just say, my first attempt looked nothing like the commercials. I tripped up, lost momentum, and even managed to kick it across the room. 😅

It reminded me of how life feels sometimes — when you’re juggling clients, kids, content, commitments… and no matter how hard you try, you just can’t get into a rhythm.
