When considering vasectomy as a permanent birth control method, we recommend meeting one of our specialists to help you through any concerns.

Being one of the least invasive and effective methods, vasectomy is safe, quick, and simple.

Our urologists regularly perform vasectomies, and it is performed as a day case.

When confronted with a serious health event, it's easy for patients and their loved ones to become confused about the management or how best to proceed with medical treatment.

Getting your case reviewed by a second consultant follows the advice of governing bodies such as the AMA, the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, which recommend second opinions when patients are uncertain.

You'll find our doctors' qualifications on our website, who welcome patients requiring a second opinion for urologic conditions.

Haematuria is the presence of blood in the urine.

Blood in the urine can originate from any part of the urinary tract ranging from the kidneys, collecting system (ureters and bladder) as well as from the urethra (waterpipe) taking urine from the bladder.

Although seeing blood in the urine can be frightening, it is not usually life-threatening.

The important thing is not to ignore the symptom of haematuria and to have it investigated promptly.

Erectile dysfunction is very common, and you should not be afraid to ask for help.

There are various causes of erectile dysfunction, and whilst further investigation into the cause is sometimes required, it can usually be treated once an initial assessment has been made.

For men suffering erectile dysfunction either as a result of prostate cancer treatment or due to other conditions such as diabetes, there are a number of options available to help restore satisfactory erections.

From the age of 50, men with no symptoms or family history of prostate cancer should have a PSA test every two years.

It’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and raising awareness for the 75% of Australians unaware of testing guidelines can help improve the rate of early detection.

Your GP can provide a pathology request form.

On our website, you’ll find helpful information on screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Women's Health Week begins next week.

It's a timely reminder for women of all ages to think and act on their health and wellbeing.

Importantly, conversations that may seem difficult are ones you need to have; topics like incontinence, urinary tract infection, painful bladder, and pelvic organ prolapse are some conditions common to women's urology that require proper investigation and discussion.

Make an appointment for a health check and start the conversation with your GP.

You can find information on our website about these and other female urology.
