It’s been a long time since I’ve posted - enough to grow and birth a baby.
Ezri Soares was born last week. I have so many thoughts about how this pregnancy and delivery were different. I am so grateful have experienced care and support from a vast medical and Ayurvedic team.
More than any other declaration, all I can say is that true holistic care is one that has concern for all parts of the person and that can be found in every swath of medicine - including a scheduled c section and hospital birth - which I had with Ezri.
I have been processing the PTSD from the homebirth I attempted with Adira for the last 2 years. It is still very alive in my body - “natural” does not always been better or safer. It came up during this delivery and the hospital staff and my doctors assisted me through it with the greatest of care.
I am grateful to still be practicing Ayurveda while continuing to pursue my degree to become a Physians Assistant. Health is a team sport - meaning done together and not meaning where one picks a side and declares blind allegiance to some theoretical point of view.
