THUMB/FINGER SUCKING 👍 🦷😃
During some of our visits to Early Years Settings, the OHP team have been asked advice on how to stop thumb sucking!
Prolonged thumb sucking can contribute to speech or dental problems, such as improper alignment of teeth or development of an overbite. Speech problems mostly with “S” sounds and other tongue tip sounds. Prolonged finger sucking also can cause chapped skin, calluses and issues the nail of the sucked finger.
If you have a chronic thumb-sucker, here is some advice that may work to help your child put an end to thumb sucking.
