Human health begins with clean hands. It is known that 80% of all infectious diseases are transmitted by contact. Dirty or poorly washed hands can cause flu, SARS, hepatitis, dysentery and a number of other dangerous viral diseases, intestinal disorders and allergies, so regular and proper hand washing is one of the most important aspects of personal hygiene.

Did you know that:

our hands, from our fingertips to our elbows, can have anywhere from 2 million to 140 million bacteria on them;
bacteria and germs on our hands can stay alive for up to 3 hours;
-Wet hands transmit 1,000 times more bacteria than dry hands;
-Half of men and 25% of women do not wash their hands after using the restroom;
There are millions of bacteria hiding under watches or wristbands, and a wedding ring may have more bacteria than people in all of Europe!
Scientists have found that there are far more germs and bacteria on women's hands than on men's hands. The difference in the amount of pathogenic microflora on the hands is due to the different acidity of the skin (women have lower acidity), different sweating and hormonal background, as well as the fact that men and women use different detergents and cosmetics - for example, women use hand creams and detergents for washing and cleaning more often.

The hands of manual workers are cleaner than those of office workers, and the telephone handset (including the cell phone), desk, keyboard and computer mouse - the very things used in offices - lead the list of the most germ-infested household items.

Respiratory infections, bacteria and viruses that cause gastrointestinal disorders and other infectious diseases are very often passed from one person to another through the hands and surfaces of objects we touch. The easiest yet most effective way to fight germs is to keep your hands clean.

It is very important to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating, before feeding your baby, and before cooking, because pathogenic germs from dirty hands can enter the human body with food. After touching raw meat or fish and after handling raw food it is also necessary to wash your hands thoroughly, because germs and viruses multiply particularly quickly on such products. It is necessary to wash your hands after changing diapers or diapers, and also after using the toilet: it is known that after using the toilet the number of bacteria on your fingers doubles!

You should be especially careful to wash your hands after taking out the trash, after touching money, after contact with animals, dirty shoes or a dirty rag, and whenever your hands look unclean or have a foreign odor.

Remember to wash your hands with soap for at least 15-30 seconds, then rinse off the soap and wipe your hands dry with a clean towel or dry them under a stream of warm air. Washing your hands regularly with soap and water helps remove a significant amount of bacteria from your hands.
