Why You Shouldn't Give Water to Babies Under 6 Months 👶❌

Did you know that giving water to a newborn can actually be dangerous? 🤯 Babies’ tiny tummies—only the size of a teaspoon at birth!—need to be filled with nutrient-rich breast milk or formula, not plain water.

Before 6 months, their little bodies aren’t ready to handle extra water. Too much can mess with their delicate electrolyte balance, leading to a serious condition called water intoxication, which can cause dangerous sodium imbalances. 😨

So how do babies stay hydrated? Breast milk or formula is all they need! 🍼 These provide both hydration and essential nutrients for growth. Once they hit 6 months and start solids, small sips of water are okay—but until then, skip the H2O!
