The ATTAIN research team is conducting the first large scale study which aims to compare the differences in surgical experiences between different ethnicities of medical students and junior doctors; with differential attainment.

We encourage all surgical and non-surgical trainees (including International Medical Graduates) up to and including post certificate of completion of training (CCT) to participate in this study.

We aim to highlight areas of excellence and improvement in surgical education, then use this data to direct suggestions for evidence based changes to undergraduate and postgraduate surgical education.

As society moves to tackle systemic inequalities, we hope our study will demonstrate a commitment to achieve this within medicine as a whole and surgery.
