Hello families,

The Children's Wisdom Center, as part of Common Good Tacoma, is hosting an event next Wednesday evening, June 25th, from 6:30 - 8:30pm. CWC parent and anti-racism consultant Julia Kagochi will facilitate a conversation on ways to talk with little ones when the world feels heavy.

All are welcome. Feel free to invite other caring adults -- parents, guardians, grandparents, friends -- as we come together for this important conversation.

Light snacks will be provided; bring a sack dinner if you like.

An important conversation before we break for summer!

Restorative Thai Yoga with Jeni Martinez and Sandi Koch
Jul 20th, 2025 3:00-5:00pm

Stress is a normal part of being a modern-day human but how we manage stress can make the difference between feeling overwhelmed and depleted or negotiating it with ease.

In 2016, Jeni and Sandi discovered that the combination of relaxing restorative yoga postures and gentle Thai massage adjustments could be a powerful antidote for managing stress and inviting deep rest into tired bodies. Since then, they have been offering this workshop in yoga studios, on retreats and at yoga conferences.

Sandi is a yoga teacher, occupational therapist and a Thai Yoga Massage therapist. Jeni brings the experience of 35 years of teaching yoga. They invite you to unwind, relax and de-stress during this two-hour workshop.

Finding your way to emotional resilience through your yoga practice. Thank you so much for sharing these Rodrigo ❤️🙏🏼

Five Ways to Find Emotional Resilience Through Yoga ✨

In a fast-paced, ever-changing — and sadly, often violent — world, it’s no surprise that stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm have become part of daily life.

Too much information, constant uncertainty, and everyday challenges can take a real toll on our nervous system.

So here are five gentle suggestions to help you feel held, soothe your nerves, and restore emotional balance:

🌺Breath Awareness & Regulation
🌺Mindfulness & Meditation
🌺Yoga Asana Practice
🌺Yoga Nidra (Guided Yogic Rest)
🌺Connect with Your Yoga Community
🌺In turbulent times, let yoga be your anchor. 🧘‍♀️

Yoga offers a sanctuary — a space to care for your nervous system, nurture emotional balance, and rediscover inner peace.

💌 If this resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone who might need it too.

With love,
Rodrigo ❤️

Our Story

In 2005, Source Yoga was founded in the beautiful North End of Tacoma, Washington. Our intention was to share our love of yoga and make a difference in our community. In 2011, we added a second location in University Place, WA, and year after year, have won the region’s “Best of” awards. Not only that, Source Yoga has fulfilled its mission of making a difference - over the years, we have had countless students share how profoundly the classes, workshops, and community of Source has touched them and improved the quality of their lives.

At Source Yoga, you will be welcomed by teachers, staff, and community and you will feel at home in our non-competitive and supportive environment. We welcome students of all experience, ages, body types, and abilities. Source Yoga offers exceptional Hatha yoga classes from beginning to experienced, Pre/postnatal Yoga, workshops, special events, and retreats with well-trained instructors.

Over the years, Source Yoga has matured to be not just a place to practice asana – the physical aspect of yoga – but a place to cultivate awareness through the practice of mindfulness. Through mindfulness, we can discover our inner resources for health, healing, and self-care, and access a deeper experience of ease, peace of mind, and compassion for self and others. We offer Mindful Yoga, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and the regions only Mindfulness Based Yoga Teacher Training, led by Source Yoga owner Erin Joosse and teachers Rebecca Ray.
