It's been 4 weeks since Ráine's last surgery and we are on our way to do an xray and hopefully a cast removal.

Discharge day was two days ago and came with pain, but so many other lovely moments 💖

Tomorrow morning, Ráine will be walking into her 12th surgery. The bone is growing, little by little, but Is completely avoiding the donor bone. They will be checking for infection and replacing the plate and screws in her leg. The surgeon believes that the plate she has is too thick now, and is absorbing the vibrations of her walking. The vibrations are crucial for the bone to grow, so he's putting in a thinner, smaller plate with the hopes of vibration t transference to her bone.
This will be a pivitol point in her journey.

I've not been keeping up on Ráine's medical updates, intentionally. We have been living our life traveling, enjoying each other, my parents, and life with a baby.

We'll update after her surgery 💜

Ráine was discharged from the hospital on Sunday and has been having a very rough go at it. Yesterday was a lot better though, a corner was turned, and she's starting to get back to her old self. This morning, she asked to make coffee with me and light a candle from "our store in Salem" ( ) and it felt so good to have her back on my counter, playing with sugar cauldrons, and sipping out of spooky mugs.

Here we are again, on floor 500, the Oncology floor. I'm not sure we have been here for over two years.
Ráine is having a rough go at it this time, but the surgery, at this point, was a success.
We'll see what recovery looks like, but we will probably be here until Monday.

I wish we could just keep on this care free, this adventurous... but tomorrow, very early, Ráine will have her 11th surgery.
They are grafting from her hip, sinking a rod, and adding a metal plate...then back in a cast.

Ráine's scans were clear, thankfully. She'll go in for her next scans in December.
We have a huge hurdle ahead, however...
She will have surgery on June 13th--grafting will be done by opening her pelvis, then hardware will be added, and sealed with another spica cast.
Ráine has a pre-op appt on Monday that will solidify everything.

It has been a very long time (thankfully), but we are back in the hospital for another round of MRIs and x-rays. Just waiting to get things started.
Next week is Ráine's surgery. I'll update more later on.

Now it's just a waiting game to find out if she's still clear.
