📚 The parasympathetic freeze response when dressed up as resistance, looks hostile, stiff, and neurotic, but underneath it’s the central nervous system that feels cornered.
💯 When someone has a very bad attitude towards work or doesn’t want to do their homework, what I hear is that person has been hijacked by:
🛑 Freeze/Collapse Mode: The body says, “too much = unsafe,” so it shuts down movement and bleeds overwhelming thoughts, feelings, emotions, and unhelpful behaviours.
⚔️ Hostility/Defiance Self-Lock-In: That part tries to protect you by rejecting the demand, because in the past obligation = overwhelm, and over-giving = pain + resentment.
🔄 Psychotic-Feelings of Pressure: When you fight against freeze, your system overloads, creating inner chaos, further locking out resources leading to an inner siege. This may be neurotic depending on a person’s grasp on reality.
🩺 Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) helps by identifying the root cause of the lifestyle or cognitive blockages and transforms it with the help of experiments and measurable objectives. Consider an assumption that troubles you today and put it to test by exploring how the rational, wise, and emotional mind justifies the assumption individually. Then check if the intensity of your pain pointers decreases because of the rational, wise, or emotional mind. Mindfully notice how you integrate the three parts of your mind.
