Hi! We’re Adam and Elise, and we’d like to introduce you to Fit FIRE.

You’ve probably heard about the FIRE movement by now: in a nutshell, it’s lots of motivated people striving to earn more and spend less in order to achieve financial independence decades before traditional retirement age. Some strive for “Fat FIRE” (where they can live relatively lavishly in retirement) and others are content with “Lean FIRE” (financial independence achieved mostly through lifelong frugality).

We’d like to suggest a totally different approach: Fit FIRE. Like the ancient Greek philosophers Adam studied in grad school, we view financial and physical fitness as inextricably connected. Our philosophy is built around three core principles, which we call the three pillars of health and wealth:

Pillar #1 is Consumption. Whether eating to fuel your body or spending to maintain your lifestyle, consuming the right things in the right amounts is essential to building health and wealth.
