It’s as simple as that… you might not have to do it how I do it but you don’t need to be disrespectful 💛🧡💜

I love this community so it makes me sad when I see members dismissing others because they chose a different way to manage their Lipedema.
YOUR journey is YOUR journey. And just like you want supported so do they.
We should be fighting the medical community to take us seriously not each other. 💛🧡💜

We at WTL *personally* don’t think we’d be a good patient for twilight anesthesia. We’d be asking questions and wanting to know what’s going on. We have a strong need to fill awkward silences 😂

Do you think you could handle surgery under twilight anesthesia? Have you had surgery under twilight? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Lipedema removal surgeries can be performed under either Twilight or General Anesthesia. Each surgeon has their own preference on what they like to use while operating.

Twilight is a technique that uses mild drug doses to stop the pain and provide temporary memory loss. With twilight, the patient is sedated but is still conscious and can communicate with the surgeon.

General anaesthesia is a state of controlled unconsciousness. During GA, medicines are used to send you to sleep, so you're unaware of surgery and do not move or feel pain while it's carried out.

So much controversy over this manual extraction technique when really it’s a super personal choice.

We at WTL would love to know:
If you’ve had it done and if so would you do it again?
If you didn’t have it done do you wish you would have?

Manual Lipedema Extraction™️ is a technique use to remove larger Lipedema nodules that are too big to fit through a liposuction cannula.

This technique allows for removal of nodules that might be left behind during traditional Lipedema removal surgery

There’s been a lot of talk about this technique created by * People seem to be on opposite sides about this technique. Some find it unnecessary and too invasive. While others say it was a deciding factor in their picking their surgeon.

“Without Manual Lipedema Extraction I am certain I would not have had relief from the large nodules on my shins. If you have ever had pain from larger nodules, you know the strong desire to make sure all the lipedema is removed.” -

Is MLE something you want or want to avoid?

*What_the_lip is not promoting this surgeon over any other surgeons. WTL just wanted to share the information about this technique

It’s so overwhelming when the medical community doesn’t even know half the time.
I am so grateful for social media as I got more answers about and than I ever did by my doctors.
