Hello and Happy Black History Month! 

As we come to another season, we reflect on and recognize the contributions of the Black community and their tireless efforts to elevate themselves as well as their communities. We want to provide a platform for the community to gather, discuss and connect on the important subject of health. 

With that said, BCHCPA invites you to another Outreach Medical Clinic, where we will be doing Blood Pressure Checks, providing Information and Education on Chronic Diseases and will address any questions and concerns related to Health Screening, Medication and Diagnostic Tests. 

In addition to this we will provide support for Mental Health, Addiction, Chronic Diseases and Infectious Diseases. 

Finally, we encourage you to engage with the Black Healthcare Professionals on site as they are eager to connect with you, the community. Some good topics of discussion could be Access to Care and Overcoming Barriers. We would also like to support community in learning how to Navigate the Healthcare System while empowering you with valuable Information and resources.

Black Canadian Healthcare Professionals is back with another community outreach clinic!

We are offering support for your healthcare needs with a clinic to address your questions and concerns.

We will be providing resources on topics such as race based screening, mental health, chronic disease, diversity in health care, navigating the medical system and more.

Additionally, we will be having special guests, Dr Merkeley from St Paul's Hospital (Red Cell Disorders of BC program), speaking on Sickle Cell Trait and Thalassemia Trait and Dr. Farley who is an Infectious Disease specialist.

There will be opportunities for discussion with healthcare professionals as well as referrals to healthcare services or providers.

Please feel free to spread the word and invite friends, family or anyone you know in the black community that may require support with their healthcare needs.

Light refreshments provided by the Jamaican Canadian Cultural Association of British Columbia (JCCABC).
