2026! ....let's try to overcome idleness! I've started with a new project, this time not a robot, but a star fighter bomber. I started with the first blockout, but the first part that really fired me up was the engine section. Having always been fascinated by the engines of Naboo starships, I wanted to follow the style but maintain a more "open" and detailed version. The idea is to create a bomber somewhat in the Star Wars style, recalling various concepts seen in recent years, but obviously maintaining a personal style.
Okay, go ahead, for now, enjoy the new engine!

Some may have noticed the absence of updates and prize winner announcements.
Which I did promise to release before the weekend.
Sadly we had some interesting times here at PRC HQ (Snowpocalypse, way behind schedule with moving house, rather nasty infected wound) and we were not able to create the necessary material. For which I humbly apologize.

Of course we also wanted to make sure our friends at OMC would get full attention. If you haven't checked out the results of OMC2025, go check it out now!

I'm going to try really hard to pump it out in a simpler format this week, if that fails I'm going to take a shortcut and just make a picture album on social media. You've all waited long enough.

Again, I'm terribly sorry for the long wait.

With judging being finished I am racing to get everything together for the final presentation. Sadly I am also moving, the PRC headquarters has been packed and ready to go.
Which makes me a bit behind of schedule with... everything :/

However, as promised, an in-depth look at our wonderful trophee. Made possible by the genius of Natter-Kit.
If you pay attention you'll also see a special guest!

I am planning to release the final presentation before the 10th, so stay tuned!

YOU HAVE BEEN JUDGED!

The last judge has sent in their scores and we are currently compiling the scores and the feedback they have sent. The lucky winners of the Peculiar Robot Contest 2025 will be announced soon!
We are very grateful to our trio of esteemed judges this year. They have invested their time and effort to go through all the entries (14!) and all relevant pictures (way too many!) in order to bring you a winner!

So please let them know your gratitude by buying their products, following them on socials and pushing their content for all the world to see!

JUDGING IS IN PROGRESS!

It’s been a while since you all sent in your amazing entries! It took me a few days to collect and order all the entries in order to send them to the judges. By now the judges have received them and are in the process of judging them! In fact, judging is almost complete!

When the judges have sent in their final word I will be comparing the scores and their remarks in order to decide the winners of the Peculiar Robot Contest 2025.

In the meantime I’m trying to divide the prizes into fun sized prize-packages to distribute to the winners.

Stay tuned for an update on the trophees!

The deadline has passed, entries are in, so what's next!?

- First we will check all entries for completeness, if an entry is incomplete we will contact the contestant.
- We will send out all confirmations so everyone knows their entry has been received.
- Next up is the collection of all entries into a structured whole to make judging easier.
- And of course setting up judging rules, forms, and contacting the judges.

The plan is to have this finished by the weekend, so we can send out the package to the judges.

Thank you all for joining us! It's been an honour seeing all the weird robots that participate in our peculiar little contest.

With just over one week to go, we have a final addition to our pricepool!

Like last year we will be donating a FR3DD13 kit to each of the winners. FR3DD13 is a cute little robot that wants to bring the world a message. It's up to you to make sure his message reaches the world.

In addition to FR3DD13 kits we will also be adding two artbooks to the price-pool:
- Kallamity's amazing book Abakan 2288, Kallamity's first artbook blending lore, art and modelbuilding tips. A great addition to any mecha enthousiasts library.
- Masahiro Ito's (Yes, that Masahiro Ito) Acid Bufferzone book. A semi-narrative artbook detailing his acid bufferzone universe. There's weird mecha, bikes, flyers and more! all in drab post-apocalyptic colours. The book contains drawings and models, as well as a comic.

These books were totally not accidentally ordered twice and will be given to two lucky winners of the contest!

With about three weeks left, it's time for a new sponsor spot-light!
This time we would like to focus on MCMS, the Mech Case Model Shop.
MCMS creates cool little detail-up pieces for mecha. Ranging from power pipe covers to heat sinks and more.

They graciously agreed to sponsor us again this year and provide some of their outstanding detail parts for our prize pool.

Check out their webshop www.mechcase.com and support them by buying some of their parts to make your entry pop a bit more.
Or follow them here on Instagram:
