The Biggest Hearts
It has long been asserted that horses tend to mirror the human emotional experience, and are effective partners to facilitate human healing and achieving higher levels of personal growth and leadership development. As a mental health therapist for over a decade, I have personally witnessed how equine-facilitated work can achieve in moments what might have taken months or even longer in talk therapy sessions. Now researchers are starting to explore ways to quantitatively measure what is really happening for people - and horses - when human equine bonds occur.
