Do you find yourself standing on the weighing scale every single day, once, twice or even thrice?

The numbers do not matter much, in fact. If you persist in making the small little changes (e.g. start by eating an apple today, portioning out your rice by a quarter before you start eating, drinking one full glass of water before each meal) in your daily routine, results will show eventually. Sometimes not by the number on the weighing scale, but by the overall shape of your body!

What are some types of healthy food choices do you go for? 😋 One month ago, a colleague of mine introduced me to this superfood called quinoa (Keen-wah). It is an edible seed that comes in various colours (e.g. white, black, yellow, red). It contains loads of fibre, protein, minerals, antioxidants, high in anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, gluten-free and has low glycemic index (slow releasing of blood sugar). All these have the benefits of fighting diseases, lowering blood cholesterol and sugar, and aid in weight loss! It is tasty and definitely a very good white rice replacement. Try including this in your diet starting today:) Some other food varieties below for your reference! Healthy eating does not have to be boring :)

Reading this article reminded me of what happened 6 years back. I started jogging for the first time since high school (which was 7 years back) in the attempt to lose weight and lower my blood pressure. Little did I know that after jogging for a mere 10 mins, my head was spinning so badly that I had to rest at the next bus stop ahead. It was literally stars spinning and then everything went blacked for a few minutes. I still remember the heavy pants under my breath. I sat at the bus stop for about an hour (but what seemed to be an eternity) to recover from my giddy spells and made my way home.

I realized then that I had pushed myself too hard in the attempt to lose weight and I had not prepped my body well enough. One key takeaway is to introduce small changes to your lifestyle in a gradual manner in order to sustain it!
