Movement Wellness -
I still remember the day her mother walked into the studio with a tiny 6-year-old girl hiding behind her.
A mother who had already been turned away by many…
A child who wouldn’t speak, wouldn’t look up, would bite, hit, or throw herself on the floor when the music felt too loud.
Not because she was rude.
But because she was special.
She was on the autism spectrum — trying her best to navigate a world that often felt overwhelming.
Every class began the same way:
20 circles running around the studio to let her release the storm inside her little body.
And slowly… gently… she started to follow me.
Year after year, step by step, we learned each other’s rhythm.
The day she first smiled…
The day she held my hand willingly…
The day she danced without fear — I remember them all.
Today, she is 21.
And she stands on stage with grace, confidence, and a light that belongs only to her.
From a little girl who hid from the world,
to a young woman brave enough to face the spotlight —
this is her journey.
And I am so, so proud of her.
Proud of her courage.
Proud of her growth.
Proud of the beautiful dancer — and person — she has become.
To all parents walking a difficult path, and to all children who move at their own pace:
there is hope, there is progress, and there is always a place for you.
