This is a photo repost that I felt drawn to share. As a healer I’ve often been a fixer and justice warrior, however when it comes from the wounded self of wanting to be needed and appreciated, it actually creates karmic repercussions on oneself.
That is not an easy lesson to learn, because no one likes to see others suffer. However, rushing in and saving, fixing and prescribing - instead of just holding space - gets seen as controlling and smothering. Suddenly the help and fixing given out of needing to feel belonging, becomes the very thing that pushes people away and they actually start to blame you for interfering (even if they asked for help initially) and taking away their autonomy.
That’s why holding space is actually the true purpose of helping someone, not stepping in and taking on someone’s lesson and responsibility.
Karmically or energetically we actually end up experiencing the repercussions of their lessons and behaviour. Instead of appreciation and gratitude, we receive resentment and anger.
The Laws of the Universe are simple, as within so without, as above so below. Holding space and allowing others to be who they need to be and grow at their own pace is honouring yourself and others.
