❓did you know there is some amazing work that can be done with your young person that incorporates their special interest.
🌟 for many of the young people I support, their special interest is something that feels safe to them and makes them feel secure. So by incorporating this into an unfamiliar task it can give them a sense of security.

❓do you know that play is such a great tool for development in many areas of speech, language and communication differences?
🌟as a speech therapist I’m often asked ‘why do you play with the young people all of the time’ and told ‘your job looks so fun’.
🌟but what looks like ‘just play’ and ‘fun’ on the surface is actually a well thought out session that is aiming to develop the above areas.

Sorry for the lack of posts these last few weeks - it’s been a crazy busy few weeks in work 🙈 anyway back to it ! Emotion literacy is such a difficult task for many of our young people. Working as an emotion coach is one of the best ways to develop your young persons emotion literacy 🤩
