Let me finally introduce myself on the world of social media!
My name is, Chrisy. I currently live on the stunning North Coast of Northern Ireland, UK.
Where did your live of genealogy come from?
I've always had a fascination with genealogy. Growing up I was always interested to know "where I came from". I loved nothing more than speaking with elder members of my family, asking them questions about their youth and who their parents & grand parents were.
I finally thought in 2018 it was time to properly build a family tree. More for myself but also for any future generations of my family. Thinking the stories will soon be forgotten and consigned to the history books
During the worlds first lockdown, we had many of hours to kill. That's when it really took off for me. Spending what seemed like hours starting at a screen. Trying to smash through family walls.
In 2020 I decided to take a DNA test, more interesting work followed and we finally solved mystery's my ancestors thought they took to the grave!
What is Altered Genealogy?
I set Altered Genealogy up in July 2022, mainly as a way to try and help people further their research and break down those brick walls.
I've spent a good few years trying different methods out and thought I could apply some to help others.
