Description:
It is important for all mental health care providers to be well connected to and collaboratively engage with multidisciplinary network to promote mental health education and awareness, decrease stigma and open the door to conversations about mental illness.
There is no health without mental health (WHO). Psychiatry is at the forefront of health as mental health care providers are strategically positioned to be connected with multiple disciplines.
Like the roots of the Lotus flower (LOWER MIDDLE) growing in murky waters, mental illness among Filipinos direly affects all sectors of society, from the individual, family to larger sectors such as the government, education, science, technology, media, business, arts, culture, and religion. Productive and harmonious collaboration between these sectors are empowered when the human mind (CENTER) is at its optimum health through the promotion of mental health awareness, stigma reduction and open doors for strategies to alleviate Filipinos' suffering from mental illness. Through these, the mentally ill Filipino can still come out as a beautiful Lotus flower - a symbol of enlightenment, healing and restoration.
