Lavender Portal 💜 Flora stood in between the sea of purple. Breathing deeply, she took in the aromatic scent of the lavender field. She listened. Bees buzzed all around her as she picked some of the blossoms. The heady scent took her back to a time with her grandmother. Days spent together in the kitchen making deliciously buttery lavender shortbread. Observing her grandmothers hard working hands as she added the delicate flower and kneaded with such gentleness. Upon Flora's arrival home from the lavender field, the smell of the shortbread baking in the oven soon filled the room with the nostalgia she was feeling. The taste, a portal back to to the thread bear floral sofa, where she sat side by side with her grandmother. Her legs swinging with excitement as they did not quite reach the floor then. The crumbly, floral, buttery biscuit was a real afternoon treat served with a small cup of tea in her grandmothers Sunday best china. This shortbread radiated warmth, comfort, memories, and a whole lot of love.
