We are so pleased to welcome Kristina Tate, MPH, RDN and Amanda Villescas, RD to our CED and Bodywise Binge Eating Recovery Program clinical team!

Amanda and Krissy each bring a wealth of experience and compassion to their clinical work and professional collaborations. (Full bios at https://www.center4ed.org or https://www.thebodywiseprogram.com).

Both are now accepting new clients for single outpatient telehealth assessments and for ongoing telehealth nutrition counseling for children, teens, and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia, BED, ARFID, and related conditions.

INTRODUCING CENTER FOR EATING DISORDERS CLINICAL TEAM MEMBER : Meret Flessenkämper, MA

Meret earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. She served a clinical internship and training at the Center for Eating Disorders, and two research internships – at The University of Michigan and at
Meret earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. She served a clinical internship and training at the Center for Eating Disorders, and two research internships – at The University of Michigan and at Wayne State University. She is currently completing Intuitive Eating Counselor certification and is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders.

Meret offers mindful movement, psychoeducation, and emotional/behavioral meal and nutrition support, as well as other individualized types of recovery support clients may need as an adjunct or wraparound to regular outpatient psychotherapeutic and dietetic treatment.

Meret approaches her work with clients with a non-judgmental attitude and curiosity, using a resource-oriented stance that aims to help people see the potential that naturally exists within them. Her focus is on providing a caring and kind space in which clients can befriend their body and heal their relationship with food and movement. She employs the principles of Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size as a roadmap to recovery for her clients.

Meret currently is accepting new clients via telehealth.

NEW STAFF MEMBER WELCOME!
On behalf of all of us at the Center for Eating Disorders I am so happy to announce that Melanie Garzonio, MA, CAADC, LPC, has re-joined our staff and is currently accepting new clients (adults, 18+) for telehealth services. Melanie is an outstanding clinician and a good friend to CED, so we are thrilled to have her back on our team! Further background on Melanie:
Melanie earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Cornell University and continued her education at Boston University School of Medicine, where she received her Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine. She strongly believes positive change is possible for every individual and focuses on providing a caring strengths-based environment for emotional and behavioral change to flourish. She is an advocate for Health at Every Size and body positivity. She has specialized in working with clients struggling with eating disorders and eating-related issues in outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization settings, with a special interest in working with college students and young adults. She is also a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor and has worked extensively with clients experiencing co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues, including eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
