Last month Swallow Studies by Shari, PLLC celebrated six years of providing quality mobile FEES swallow studies in a variety of settings throughout IL and IN. What started out as an idea turned into something much larger. FEES is more than a job to us. We are a dynamic practice and strive to perform diagnostic assessments where we can serve the patient, family, SLP, and facility staff with a comprehensive and in-depth evaluation and treatment plan. This aids in reducing re-hospitalizations and keeping the individual on the safest and least restrictive diet as well as referring to physicians (ENT and GI for example) in a timely manner. Building rapport with our colleagues and gaining their trust with our skills and recommendations is a top priority.
Swallow Studies by Shari provides services to acute care hospitals, acute rehabilitation facilities, LTACH, and skilled nursing facilities. We also do onsite competency trainings throughout the country for facilities and SLPs looking to start FEES programs. Teaching is another passion. We lecture to university dysphagia programs and offer complimentary education opportunities annually to our customers.

Chicago area SLPs: Lingraphica will be presenting Supporting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations: The Magic of AAC. During this course, we explore how Lingraphica serves those with speech and language impairments, including culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

Shari was the guest on the podcast called Speech Path Pod back in October and the episode was released today! Liz Maxwell () and Theresa Cibrian () were an integral part of the roundtable on the topic of mobile FEES. These ladies are not only Speech-Language Pathologists but also amazing colleagues, clients, and friends.
