We've been brainwashed into thinking that the older you get the harder it is to change. But is this is not really true. Lots of studies have shown that the brain retains it's plasticity throughout life, that the only thing that is stopping you from changing and learning is time and the will to do so. Yes, children learn quicker, but that's mostly because that is all they are required to do, they don't have the responsibility if household bills, a full time job, and a family to care for. Your brain is capable of change, so if you want to, you can reinvent yourself.

Here are 8 and a half ways to empower yourself:

1. Listen to Your Gut: Trust your instincts. Often, we ignore our inner voice and let external influences guide us. Pay attention to that inner knowing—it’s your compass.
2. Set Boundaries: Empowerment begins with knowing your limits. Learn to say no when necessary. Boundaries protect your energy and well-being.
3. Self-Care Rituals: Prioritize self-care. Whether it’s meditation, exercise, or a warm bath, these rituals recharge you and reinforce your self-worth.
4. Positive Affirmations: Speak kindly to yourself. Replace negative self-talk with affirmations like, “I am capable,” “I am enough,” and “I deserve success.”
5. Learn Continuously: Knowledge is power. Read books, take courses, and expand your horizons. Lifelong learning fuels empowerment.
6. Surround Yourself with Positivity: Choose an uplifting company. Surrounding yourself with positive, supportive people boosts your confidence.
7. Visualize Success: Picture your goals vividly. Visualization primes your mind for achievement and helps you overcome obstacles.
8. Celebrate Small Wins: Acknowledge your progress. Celebrate even the tiniest victories—they add up to significant empowerment.

And now for the half:

8.5. Embrace Imperfection: You don’t need to be flawless. Embrace your quirks, mistakes, and growth. Imperfections make you beautifully human.

Remember, empowerment is an ongoing journey. 🌟

By acknowledging accountability for their actions, thoughts, and choices, individuals reclaim control and autonomy. This recognition fosters a sense of ownership, instilling confidence and self-belief in their ability to effect change.

Just a friendly reminder that you've got this, even on Blue Monday, you can empower yourself and not give in to the seasonal pressure. Perhaps we should we change the name of the day to Hot Chocolate Monday? What do you think?

Sometimes known as Quitters' Day, This term was coined by researchers who analysed data from a popular fitness app, observing a significant drop in user engagement and commitment to New Year's resolutions around this time.

Many individuals start the new year with enthusiasm and determination to achieve their resolutions, but as the initial excitement fades and the challenges of maintaining new habits set in, some people may start to lose motivation. Factors such as unrealistic goals, lack of a clear plan, or unexpected obstacles can contribute to the decline in resolution adherence.

What we can take from this is that it's essential to remember that setbacks are normal. Use this time to make adjustments, perhaps set more realistic goals, and continue working towards positive change, remember that its not a race, you can take as long as your like. It is your goal, after all, you set the agenda.
