With so many resources available, from streaming services to subscriptions, you may wonder: what are the benefits of in-person yoga classes? Here are just a few:
⭐ You see the teacher and they see YOU. Your teacher can guide you toward better alignment, a prop for assistance, or a different option that may work better for your unique abilities. A good teacher is paying detailed attention to each person in the space.

⭐ A sense of community. When you gather each week with the same group, you gain consistency AND a whole community. I love watching community build in class, seeing friendships grow, and people caring about others. And all from the seed of a yoga class!

⭐Q & A opportunities. Your teacher is a great resource! They are likely there prior to class and for a bit after. Respectfully ask questions that have come up for you. Your teacher will guide you, or offer additional support in the form of private instruction, book recs, or other classes/studios to visit.

⭐ Focus. Taking yourself out of your daily space frees your mind, leading to better focus, attention, relaxation, and ease in letting go.

⭐Collective energy. Whether you believe it or not, the energy in a room full of people breathing, moving, and chanting Om together creates a shift in energy you can feel. Don't believe it? Show up and you will see for yourself.

So take a little time out of your week and get yourself to an in-person class. There is so much to gain, learn, and build upon. I hope to see you on the mat soon!

A Place to Find Calm During the Storm

Amid this challenging and unprecedented chaotic time, my hope is this page will be used as a refuge and safe harbor from the storm. I will draw from my years and experience as a mental health clinician (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy), holistic practitioner and coach, developer and manager of a hospital-based integrative medicine center and department and Reiki Master/Teacher, with certifications as a Laughter Yoga Leader, Prepare for Surgery/Heal Faster (a guided imagery program) and aromatherapy to help however I can.

I will post my guided meditations here for your use. I am open to requests for live group guided imagery or meditation sessions or “classes” on various topics and hope to feature friends who have much to offer and teach. I also welcome your questions and invite you to share your own successes overcoming challenges so that we may ALL celebrate with you and buoy each other. Let’s be a beacon of light for each other in this storm. Namaste.
