Our patient came in with with a valgus knee with antalgic gait due to severe osteoarthritis. After a successful Total Knee Reconstruction surgery done with the guidance of our joints specialist, Dr. William Chuasuan Jr., and joints residents Dr. Co, Dr. Azucena, and Dr. Sy, patient is now on her way to recovery to pain-free ambulation.

AVN warrior no more! This patient just had his contralateral hip replacement, curing him for good from years of pain and discomfort.

If you have also been diagnosed w/ Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head, you may walk-in for consult at our Joints OPD, every Tuesday 8am-12pm, at Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center.

In chronic pain, antalgic, and unable to use the stairs; this young patient had a long history of systemic rheumatic disease that compromised not only her hip joints, but her entire life.

“One joint at a time”. This team of consultants focus on precision and accuracy for each procedure, asking nothing less from their resident trainees. Our patient underwent Total Hip Arthroplasty due to Avascular Necrosis of the Hip.

The JRRMMC Orthopaedics Section of Adult Reconstruction is headed by Dr. William Chuasuan, Jr., with consultants Dr. Jim Bryan Pantas, Dr. Daveric De Jesus & Dr. Edward Woo.

The JRRMMC Department of Orthopaedics Adult Joint Reconstruction Surgery held its second Joints Mission for 2023 with the guidance of our consultants, Dr. William Chuasuan, Dr. Jim Pantas, Dr. Daveric De Jesus & Dr. Edward Woo. Service patients in need were able to undergo succesful Total Knee and Total Hip Arthroplasties today.

On this day (5/9/2023), JRRMMC Orthopaedics Department held its first Joints Mission to cater to patients requiring Total Hip Arthroplasty.
With the guidance from our tirelessly-working consultants, Dr. William Chuasuan, Dr. Daveric De Jesus, Dr. Edward Woo, and the rest of the JRRMMC Orthopaedic residents, 4 patients in need for THA implants were operated successfully.
These patients will soon be on the road to recovery thru rehabilitation therapy, and would soon be able to walk pain-free.
This will be the start for more missions like these in the future.

Ang Hip Replacement ay isang pamamaraan sa operasyon upang palitan ng artipisyal na joint ang balakang dulot ng hip fracture or ibang sakit ng hip. Upang maiwasan ang komplikasyon pagkatapos ng operasyon, meron tayong sinusunod na Hip Precautions. Maaaring sundin ito upang mapadali ang proseso ng pagpapagaling at rehabilitasyon.

A case of an 80yo female who was diagnosed with a displaced, transcervical femoral neck fracture.

With the guidance of our consultant, Dr. Jim Bryan Pantas, Dr. Melissa Sanchez was able to perform the first Spaire approach in doing Partial Hip Arthroplasty last March 2, 2023.

The Spaire approach shortens the length of the incision, making recovery faster, but more importantly, avoids transection of the short external rotators, minimizing the risk for hip dislocations post operative.

On the next day, the patient was able to sit up and stand with minimal difficulty, and would be sent home the next day.

Another satisfied patient. More to come.
