Early grasping typically begins around 2–3 months, when babies start to bring their hands to midline and explore with their fingers. These 3 toys are my go-to for encouraging those first grasps:

✨ Oball – Lightweight with large holes that make it easy for tiny fingers to hook in and hold
✨ Manhattan Winkle – Soft and bendy with lots of thin loops to explore from any angle
✨ Plastic Links – Easy to grasp, chew-safe, and can be clipped anywhere for on-the-go play

These toys help babies build strength, coordination, and curiosity—all through play!

Which of these does your baby enjoy?

Yes and here’s why ⬇️

Just because a baby can turn their head doesn’t mean they’re doing it equally or comfortably. A flat spot or turn preference might mean there’s tightness elsewhere—like in the neck, trunk, or even pelvis—that limits their movement variety.

Pediatric PT can help uncover those subtle imbalances and support healthy, symmetrical development. Because it’s not just about the neck—it’s about the whole body.

Pediatric physical therapy is so much more than just bodywork. While soft tissue work is important and helps release tension, it’s the gentle, intentional movement that really drives development.

When babies participate in correct and purposeful play positions, it helps:
✅ Encourage motor pathways to activate
✅ Discover their own movement potential
✅ Supports their sensory and vestibular systems

When we combine bodywork with active participation, we build the foundation for rolling, crawling, and eventually walking.

This is why I always incorporate both into sessions. Combining the proper bodywork with movements can help unlock a baby’s movement potential!
