Let's make snacking A THING!

Common conversation with a new client...

Me: "are you having any snacks between meals?”

Client: "ohh no, I don't snack! I don't need to" or "I stopped that habit long ago!"

Friends…making it a "rule" not to snack is hurting your performance. In my experience, I see this leaves people tired, hungry later in the day or leaves you with increased cravings (because you aren't eating enough!)

Snacking can help!

Loving this Christmas gift guide! Wonderful for anyone who is active :)

If there is one cookbook I recommend it is this one!It is a great gift for any athlete. Run fast, Cook Fast, Eat Slow is the second book in this series and written by runners! Elyse Kopecky and Shalane Flannagan were track and field teammates at UNC. Shalane is now retired but was a professional runner and won the 2017 NYC Marathon. The cookbook emphasizes the importance of nutrition with athletes, especially runners. All of the meals are wholesome and nutritious. This is a great gift for any age – youth who want to get involved in the kitchen and adults who want to add some deliciousness to their meal planning.

Athletes have special nutrition needs. In order to perform our best, we need to properly fuel and listen to our body. The book even lays out how Shalane uses these recipes in her training plan! Reading the recipes and excerpts are so inspiring and makes me want to get out there for a run!
